Poseidon: *groans in pain* No! This is isn’t over, Athena. I will not stop
until I am the patron God of Athens!
Scene 2
(cue in: Ambient Background music)
Friend 2: Let’s see, let’s see! Who is it from? Tell me. Tell me!!!
Friend 3: Oh gosh. Let Medusa read it first. It’s for her anyways.
Friend 4: Yes, baby girls, please calm down. Let Medusa be the one to
unravel that letter.
Head Priestess: Enough of the chitchat, ladies! We have so much work to do,
and so little time left.
Narrator 1: Medusa and the other girls are walking towards Parthenon for
preparation on the ritual prayer for Athena.
Head Priestess: Bring the flowers and vases there. Everything has to be
perfect!
Head Priestess: It is almost done, but there are still some things missing.. We
must head to town to buy those:
Medusa: Go first, I’d like to recite some more prayers for her. I’ll be at
the temple when you need me.
(exit Friends)
Medusa: O, Athena, I hope you can hear me. Forgive me for taking this
long to praise reach out to you. It’s just that –
(enter Poseidon)
Poseidon: Poseidon.
Medusa: Poseidon? Lord of the Seas? What are you doing here, in your
niece’s temple?
Poseidon: If only I could talk to you somewhere a little bit more private.
Poseidon: I…want you. I want you. You’re the most beautiful girl I’ve
ever laid my eyes on. I WANT YOU! *grabs Medusa’s arms*
Poseidon: I am Poseidon! The ruler of the seas. You will obey every word
I say. I get what I want. You are –
Medusa: Nonsense!
Medusa: Who might it be? There are lots of men in Athens, and I can’t
quite point my finger to any of them.
Friend 1: P-philip?
Friend 2: Andrew?
Medusa: Jackson?
Friend 4: You should go! It wouldn’t be too detrimental for you if you
spare a short span of time to meet this lucky gentleman of
yours.
Medusa: What’s the point? I don’t even know his name. I could never
trust this person.
Friend 3: That is why you need to go, for you to know if that person is
worthy of your attention and trust.
(exit)
Scene 4
Medusa at the temple
Poseidon: Of course, my darling, I did not send you those letters for no
reason.
Poseidon: Yes, my darling. I can’t contain all the emotions I feel towards
you. You complete me, I want you, Medusa. Please, let me
have you.
Poseidon: What do you mean you can’t? I can be the best man you
can ever imagine, I can give you everything your heart
desires. What more do you want?
Scene 5
(enter Athena and Zeus)
Narrator 1: And so, Poseidon got what he wanted – with force. He raped
Medusa inside Athena’s temple. Athena did not know any of
this yet. Athena is on her way to her father to seek guidance
for her priestesses.
Athena: I am so fed up with all the drama in Athens. It is too much for
me to handle. UGH!
Zeus: Oh, calm down Athena. Those will eventually fade away.
Athena: If it’s not too much to ask, Father, how are my priestesses? Are
there any problems with them?
Zeus: Uh huh.
Medusa: Ugh, you have plenty of time to play that blasted game.
Again, I’ll repeat my question: How are my priestesses? Are
there any problems with them?
Zeus: Hmm… all of them seem to be obeying you --- wait! There’s
one problem.
Athena: What?
Scene 6
(enter Medusa)
Medusa: *sings*
(enter Athena)
Athena: Medusa!
Medusa: *silent*
Athena: Don’t put the blame on others! It was your own fault.
Medusa: I’m sorry! Please, Athena! I’m innocent. I would never disobey
you, thy grace.
Athena: You know I despise liars and traitors! I can’t believe that you
are going to be one. You have pushed me to my limits, and
ignited rage and fury within me! From now on, your skin will be
hard and scaly, your long, silky hair will be turned into green
snakes, and worst of it, you will receive a curse. One look at
you will turn any living things to stone!
(Thunder strike)
Medusa: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!ARGH!!!
Narrator 1: But, everytime someone tries to kill her (Shows someone trying
to kill Medusa) …
CURSED MEDUSA: What are you doing here? Go, you fools!
Hero 1: A hero would risk his own life for the peace of his people.
CURSED MEDUSA: *concealed* Poor unfortunate soul, you want to play with
these snakes?
CURSED MEDUSA: Keep them coming. They do not want to get their own life?
Verily, I’ll give them a peaceful one. *shouts* *laughs*
*stoned completely*
CURSED MEDUSA: Begging? You’re not a true hero. But it is fine, all of us have
felt shameful stirrings. All of us have felt weakness. Yet now I
feel power flowing through my veins. Now then, have a taste
my wrath.
*witch laugh*
