SYNOPSIS
Project name Library Management System
Library Management System is a project which aims in developing a computerized system to
maintain all the daily work of library .It also has a facility of admin login through which the
admin can monitor the whole system .It has also a facility where student after logging in their
accounts can see list of books issued and its issue date and return date and also the students
can request the librarian to add new books by filling the book request form.
Overall this project of ours is being developed to help the students as well as staff of library to
maintain the library in the best way possible.
Project Aims and Objectives
The aims and objectives are as follows –
Online book issue
Request column from librarian for providing new books
A search column for to search availability of books
Student login page where students can find books issued by them
Advantages
The system excludes the use of paper work by managing all the book information
electronically.
Admin can keep updating the system by providing the new books arrivals in system
Students need not to go library for issuing purpose.
The system has books well organized and systematically arranged in different categories.
Thus, it saves human efforts and resources
Scope
This application can be used by any library to automate the process of manually maintaining
the records related to the subject of purchasing books, selecting and ordering items for the
collection and maintaining the accounts.
Future Enhancement
Facility of an online notice board where teachers and students can put up information about
workshops or seminars being held in our colleges or nearby colleges and librarian after proper
verification from the concerned institution organizing the seminar can add it to the notice board.
Conclusion
Library Management Project has been created keeping in mind the needs of small and medium
scale libraries.
It is efficient software that includes all the basic functionalities like making data entries for
new books, newspapers and magazines, registering a new user.
It also facilitates the librarian to create new user groups and edit their access levels and
functions .
