Computer Lab Proposal

The purpose of this computer lab is to provide students access to computer technologies t
required by academic instructors. The computer lab would be to support the needs of all
students on campus. The lab is classified as a “General Use” computer lab.
The lab currently has an existing Novell server with enough licenses for 31 computers.
The existing computers are Compaq and are outdated. Computer equipment in the
computer lab is mainly for general usage such as applications for office productivity
suite, research on the internet, and applications for instructional support such as statistical
and computer programming software. This combination of hardware is, I believe, the best
investment for the money.

The operation hours are as follows:

Monday 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Saturdays 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Sundays 12:00 noon to 12 p.m.

The lab will consist of the following:

30 Dell computers with Windows XP Professional Operation Systems. See computer
