TITLE: CONDUCIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

ABSTRACT:
Why does many of our student cannot focus on the classroom
during classes? Does environment has a big factor on this matter? If so, this
topic will discuss how conducive learning environment does plays a big role in
the learning of the students and us future teacher how we must facilitate a
conducive learning environment.

INTRODUCTION:
“To heredity, the child owes his possibilities. However, to
environment, he owes the realization of these possibilities.”
Conducive Learning environment refers to the diverse physical locations,
contexts, and cultures in which students learn. Since students may learn in a
wide variety of settings, such as outside-of-school locations and outdoor
environments, the term is often used as a more accurate or preferred
alternative to classroom, which has more limited and traditional
connotations—a room with rows of desks and a chalkboard, for example.
The term also encompasses the culture of a school or class—its presiding
ethos and characteristics, including how individuals interact with and treat one
another—as well as the ways in which teachers may organize an educational
setting to facilitate learning…..’
Conducive Learning environment consists of the Physical Environment and
the Psychological Atmosphere

DISCUSSION

What is Physical Environment?

Physical environment refers to the level of upkeep, ambient noise, lighting,

indoor air quality and/or thermal comfort of the school’s physical building and
its location within the community or basically the Physical condition of the
classroom.

The physical environment of the school speaks to the contribution that safe,
clean, and comfortable surroundings make to a positive school climate in
which students can learn or the arrangement of furniture.
Physical Condition of the classroom, it must be:

 clean and orderly set-up

 Free from noise
 Natural light and flowing fresh air
 Doors and windows could opened and closed easily and less
noise
 Light Fixtures and ventilations are located where it is
needed.

Arrangement of furniture it should be:

 The furniture, like the table it needs to be in front of the

classroom.
 The students chair should be facing on the board.
 Display shelves should be located at the sides.
 Bulletin Boards must be attached on the walls.

What is Psychological Atmosphere?

The psychological atmosphere in the classroom is reflected in how the

teacher communicates with the children. The more confiding this
communication, the more respect for each individual is expressed through it,
and the easier it is for the members of the collective to interact.

In addition to conducive physical environment, the favorable school climate

includes:
 SAFETY (e.g physical safety; social-emotional safety)
 RELATIONSHIPS (e.g student & teacher relationship,
respect for diversity)
 TEACHING AND LEARNING (e.g support for learning)
