Emotive Function of Language

President Duterte is a disappointment for us Filipino’s. Why? We have

only one God that have the right to take away the life of a human being
because He is our creator and he created us equally in this world.
No one is given permission to judge a persons end. Even if that
person is a thief, rapist, murderer, or even a drug addict, they deserve
to change.
Analysis:
1. What is the purpose of the writer?
The purpose of the writer is to stop pre-judicial killing. The writer
wants that this would stop as soon as possible to avoid too much death
rates in the Philippines. It shows the author’s sincerity towards the
victims of this judicial killings. He/she wants to prove that in solving
the problems killing is not the solution to stop crimes instead it would
only make it worst. She also wants to prove that jails and prisons exist
for the criminals to make them suffer and regret their wrong doings.
2. How does it affects the reader’s interest?
The reader will be interested in this text because they can possibly
be involved in this problem. It also catches their attention by letting
them know what may happened if they would commit any crimes. It would also
show the reader’s that no matter how big or small the crime you commit
killing would be the payment. The reader’s will be aware sooner or later
what would be the consequences they would face if they won’t follow the
Philippines’ rules and policy. The readers would already have enough
knowledge towards the criminal doing such criminal acts that are against
the country’s premises.
3. Determine the scope and features of the elements.
The scope of this text is about the punishment received by the
criminals for doing the wrong side. This scope shows the importance of
selecting your choice that would change you fate in the near future. It
also determines the real importance of dignity with a person needs for
his/her everyday life. In this text your work supports your dignity which
it would reflect what kind of person are you. Committing crime can lead
others to look down unto you and they would already avoid you because of
your bad records.
4. Is it consider as the emotive function of language?
For us yes because it shows the authors sincerity towards the
criminals who are punished and killed for committing such crimes. She or
he wants to show her/his pity and mercy for the victims of judicial
killing. The author wants that the criminal may only be put in prison so
that they would realized that committing crimes is not the best option to
escape reality. The author also wants that not all criminals are guilty
instead others are just forced to do it for their family or for their
selves. Other criminals are not bad as you think but instead others could
commit hurting someone or accidentally killed someone because they were
just defending their selves and saving their life in danger.
 Emotive Language Function

To my dearest husband, I believe you’re always at by my side, I can

feel that. You are giving me strength when I feel like giving up, you
comfort me when I feel like I’m all alone, You never give up on me even if
you left. I will always love you till’ my last breath like we promise
together. Thank you for giving me hope, to keep on moving forward and
never look back. I miss you.

1. What is the purpose of the writer?
The purpose of the writer is to show or express her love to her
husband. She wants to express her deepest affection towards her husband
through a poem. She only wants to tell what her heart’s content and as how
thankful she is to have him in her life. The writer express her that no
matter what happened she would stay as what his husband did. It shows that
the writer was deeply in love to her husband because of what his husband
did that melts and captures her heart.
2. How does it affect the reader’s interest?
It affects the reader’s interest by showing the writers love to her
husband. It can catch their attention by simply stating her feeling which
can be a guide the readers for their loved ones. It merely states that
feelings can also be shown in a form of writing or constructing sentences
as long as you put your emotions into it. The readers would easily take
this as an example to whom they would also do this as a sign of showing
their feelings in a written form. Lastly it also helps the readers to
commemorate the essence of literature in which it uses the form of poetry.

The scope of this text is about how the writer shows her affection to
her husband in which she dedicates this to her husband. She wants to show
her gratitude to her husband because of the guidance her husband has
showed her. This scope also deals about the true essence of sincerity
which she wants to tell. In this scope it nurtures the value of love and
devotion to her husband through poetry. Its scope shows that through this
text we can express or thankfulness to someone by doing this form.

4. Is it consider as emotive function?

Yes because it shows emotion which is thankfulness and love of the
author to her husband. It can be identified as emotive function because
this states a heart whelming message of the lady to her man. All she wants
to say is that she would love him till her last breath. She dedicates this
poem to him because he is her strength that makes her day complete.
Emotive functions are the functions that shows emotions to someone they
want to share.

Referential Functions

The law of conservation of mass states that the total mass present
before a chemical reaction is the same as the total mass present after the
chemical reaction. That in other words, mass is conserve. The law of
conservation of mass was formulated by Anton Laurent Lavoises.

The writer also gives factual information which serves as a new learning to
the readers. It gives information which is based on the scientific research.
It is about the ideas of science a reader could ever learn. The author also
teaches new knowledge about the laws and branches of science.

It affects the reader’s interest by discovering something new about
the fields of science. It also serve as guide in which it would catch
their minds to be able to understand it. The readers would be able to
interface new studies about the branches of science. The readers
would be able to find each ideas as their new source of mindful
facts. It can also help them to understand each statements that is
stated by this law.
3. Determine the scope and features of the text.
This text is about the conservation of mass by Anton Laurent
Lavoises. It shows that the conservation of mass has the same total
mass before and after the chemical reaction. It means that the
chemical reaction of the conservation of mass is still the same
when the performance is done.
4. Is it considered as referential functions?
This is considered as referential because it gives information that is
proved by science. This referential function gives meaningful and
knowledgeable information about mass. It also gives new ideas about the
total mass is performed before and after the chemical reaction. This
statement would help us to understand each of the scientific terms
stated in this text. This referential function is about scientific facts
that would help us to learn about the conservation of mass.

Constellations that can be seen all year round are called

readers would easily notice this because constellation is one of
the most beautiful happening above the atmosphere. The readers

in the atmosphere. And as a referential statement they would be
able to determine easily if when and what constellations would
they encounter.

This scope is about the constellations. Constellations does not
usually showed up it only depends on how the atmosphere moves. This
text shows the beauty and nature of the constellations. It states
that constellations are one of the happenings that does occurs in
our universe. It takes many mnths or times to capture how this
stars usually perform. The readers would be able to learn new
things about this so called constellations.

Yes it is consider because it gives factual information. It teaches
us where those constellations happen. This can give ideas about
this constellations. This text already teaches us what type of
constellations are they. Referential functions refers to the
statements which give the readers new learnings. This text serves
as new information that we learn.
 Conative Functions of Language

Every public and private property that are located on the side of the
National High Ways should be named 15 meters away from the road for our
road widening. Every citizen should transfer immediately before the
widening of the road. Private properties will be paid depending on the
destroyed property.
