Reflection Paper about ADHD

ADHD or the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is a complex brain disorder that
impacts children and also adults. ADHD is a developmental impairment of the
brain's executive function. People with ADHD have trouble with impulse-
control, focussing and organization.

ADHD, is one of the most common childhood disorder, ADHD is a broad

term, and the condition can vary person to person. This condition is
sometimes call Attention Deficit Disorder or ADD , but this is an outdated
term. The term once used to refer to someone who had trouble focussing
but was not a hyperactive. ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder. It is
usually first diagnosed in childhood and often last into adulthood. Children
with ADHD may have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive
behavior ( may act without thinking about what the result will be ) or overly
active. However, children with ADHD do not just grow out of the behaviors.
The symptoms continue, can be severe and can cause difficulty at school,
home, and or with friends. A person with ADHD might; daydream a lot,
forget or lose things a lot, squirm or fidget, talk to much, make careless
mistakes or take unnecessary risk, have hard time resisting temptation,
have trouble taking turns and have difficulty getting along with others.
Having ADHD can make family lify, work, study and friendship difficult.

Based to the video that I've watched is or i learned about that symptoms for
adults is different to the kids, in kids they are hyper active, impulsive kids,
not paying attention, sing offs the walls, distracting classes. In adults you
don't typically see them sing offs on the wall or others because they can
control their self, and they know to deal with that because they know it not
socially acceptable. They have a lot of symptoms of impulsivity, they show
impulsivity in other areas like interrupting other people, driving too fast, or
spending too much. Sometimes they have impulsive relationship, it doesn't
look like. Adult ADHD is under estimated, and left untreated, especially if
symptoms like depression and anxiety have been treated instead, can truly
delayed. And according to CHADD ( Children and adults with Attention
Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ) ther are three types of ADHD.

ADHD - predominantly inattentive presentation

ADHD - predominantly hyperactive-impulsive presentation

ADHD - combined presentation

ADHD Predominantly inattentive Presentation; Fails to give close

attention to details or makes careless mistake, has difficulty sustaining
attention, does not appear to listen, struggles to follow through with
instructions, has difficulty with organization, avoid or dislikes task
requiring sustained mental effort, loses things, is easily distracted, and
forgetful in daily activities. ADHD Predominantly Hyperactive- impulsive
presentation; Fidget with hand or feet or squirm in chair, has difficulty
remaining seated, runs about or climbs in children, extreme restlessness
in adults, difficulty engaging in activities quietly, acts as if driven by a
motor, adults often feel inside as if they are driven by a motor, talks
excessively, bluffs out answer before questions have been completed,
difficulty waiting or taking turns, and interrupt or intrudes upon others.
Adults with ADHD many have inconsistent performance at work or in
their careers; have difficulties with day to day activities, experience
relationship problems, and may have chronic feelings of frustration, guilt
or blame. Individuals with ADHD may also have difficulties with
maintaining attention, excutive function and working memory. Executive
function is the brain ability to prioritize and manage thoughts and
action. This ability permit's individual to consider the long term
consequences of their actions and guide their behavior across time more
effectively. Individuals who have issues in executive function may have
difficulties completing task or may forgot important things.

In our world that we grew up, if you have a mental illness or you struggle, you
because incompetent, you are dumb, you are stupid, you're not smart, you're a
failure, that are the usual things people look at you , a mental illness or you have
health problem they think you are not good enough, dispell the taboo or the
negativity of having a mental illness, it is not a matter of or wether good or bad
things it is you just figure out what was worse with you even you have. ADHD or
not an Entrepreneur or not, they just give you insights or comment on how you
organized your life and how you manage or use techniques in your life to make
sure you stay on that track, towards accomplishing your goal. If you feels
something off talk to your doctor or talk to people, go some research and learn
more about your self and become more self aware and if you know your self,
accept your self and embrace your self you will be more empowered and be a a
strong person. - Heather
