Load Computation

The document provides load computations for a proposed four-storey hotel building with a function hall. It details the storey heights, dead loads including slab and wall weights, live loads for different occupancy types, and seismic parameters. Load combinations are also noted. Dead loads account for self-weight of structural elements while live loads consider temporary loads. Seismic loads involve importance factors and zone-dependent coefficients.

PROJECT OVERVIEW: PROPOSED 4-STOREY HOTEL BUILDING WITH FUNCTION HALL

LOAD COMPUTATIONS FOR THE PROPOSED FOUR-STOREY HOTEL BUILDING WITH FUNCTION HALL

LEVELS STOREY HEIGHT (m) RELATIVE HEIGHT (m)

FOOTING TO GROUND FLOOR 2.5 2.5

GROUND TO SECOND FLOOR 3 5.5

SECOND TO THIRD FLOOR 2.8 8.3

THIRD TO FOURTH FLOOR 2.8 11.1

FOURTH FLOOR TO ROOF DECK 2.8 13.9

DEAD LOADS
FOR DEAD LOAD (DL1) REFERENCE LOAD:
UNIT WEIGHT OF CONCRETE = 23.54 kN/m3
2.354 kN/m3 at 100mm SLAB THICKNESS

*2.354 kN/m2 is calculated from 100mm slab thickness multiplied by the concrete density of 23.54
kN/m3. So, 23.54 x 0.1 = 2.354kN/m2

DEAD LOADS
FOR DEAD LOAD (DL2) REFERENCE LOAD:
2.44 kN/m3 = FLOOR LOAD - FLOOR FINISHING
7.74 kN/m3 = (FOR MEMBER LOAD - WALL) FOR 100mm WALL THICKNESS AT GF TO 2ndF
5.595 kN/m3 = (FOR MEMBER LOAD - WALL) FOR 100mm WALL THICKNESS AT 2nd TO RD

*7.74 kN/m (member load – exterior wall)

7.74 kN/m is calculated from 100 mm CHB wall with a unit weight of 16.5 kN/m3 multiplied by the wall
height 3m added by 0.48 using table 204 – 2 of the NSCP 2015

Therefore, 0.1 x 16.5 x 3 + 0.48 = 7.74 kN/m3

*5.595 kN/m (member load – exterior wall) : 5.595 kN/m is calculated from 100 mm CHB wall with a unit
weight of 16.5 kN/m3 multiplied by the wall height 2.8 m added by 0.48 using table 204 – 2 of the NSCP
2015

Therefore, 0.1 x 16.5 x 2.8 + 0.48 = 5.595 kN/m3
