exercising it.”
While it is true that someone who has power nad is using his powers for his fame and respect, can gain
respect from the people because of the fear of his power. However, history has shown us many examples
where the most loved and respected are the ones who have power and still are humble and kind.
Consider, the Hitler, who was famous for his inclemency. He remained curmudgeon and magestrial
throught his life. Someone loved his for his autocratic nature, But the stats show that, he was not role
model ofr many of his civilians. We also know from history, Hitler was on the hatred list of many
people and even on the list of flippant personalities. He didn’t gain the respect that was commensurate
with his status and authority. This clearly, shows that people love and respect the one, who clearly is
authoritative and has a full control, yet still resist in taking advantage from that authority.
Consider, Professor Feymann, a physicist and a sagacious scientist, is still famous after decades of his
death, not only for his intellectual skills but for his softness during his teaching tenure. Majority of his
students expressed their views in a survey, where it was concluded that although he had the authority to
be rude and harsh to his student, he remained humble and therefore, serves as a role model for many. On
the other hand, even though the professor is of high caliber and is highly intellectual, if he is not friendly
and humble to his student, he will never be respected in the same proportion as the one who is the
opposite. One cannot find more than few examples from history about scholars, scientists or professor,
who remained bossy in their teaching, and still gained a lot of respect. In majority, the ones who are
respected, are humble and down to earth in their personalities instead of having authorties.
The key to a successful married life is: that the husband remain dominant and yet not bossy over their
wives. Someone would argue that , as the husband is considered dominant in the society, he should
utilize his power and show his dominance over their wives. However, a recent survey has shown that,
the more the husband is softer and jolly, the more successful are their marriages. This is not only true of
husband and wives relationship, this holds true for any scenario if it be in leadership or governmental
scenario.
The above examples supports the idea that in majority of the cases, people love and respect those , who
have power and yet resistant in applying to those powers over the weak ones.
