World Tourism Organization (WTO)
• The most widely recognized and leading
international organization in the field of travel
and tourism today.
• Is the only organization that represents all
national and official tourism interests among its
allied members.
• It serves as global forum for tourism policy
issues and a practical source of tourism know-
how.

• Its membership includes 145 countries and
territories and more than 350 affiliate members
representing local government, tourism
associations, educational institutions, and
private-sector companies, including airlines,
hotel groups and tour operators.
• Its headquarters in Madrid
• It is a specialized agency of the United Nations
(UN).

• Its beginnings as the international Union of
Official Tourist Publicity Organizations set up in
1925 in The Hague.
• It was renamed the International Union for
Official Tourism Organizations (IUOTO) after
World War II and moved to Geneva.

• It plays a role in promoting the development of
responsible, sustainable and universally
accessible tourism, paying particular attention to
the interests of developing countries.
• It encourages the implementation of Global
Code of Ethnics for tourism, with a view to
ensuring that member countries, tourist
destinations and businesses maximize the
minimizing its social and environmental impacts.

International Air Transport Association (IATA)

• The global organization for virtually all the


international air carriers.
• The principal function of IATA is to safely
facilitate the movement of persons and goods
from any point on the world air network to any
other by any combination of routes.
• Resolutions of IATA standardize not only tickets,
but waybills, baggage checks, and other similar
documents.

• IATA’s mission is to represent and serve the


world airline industry.
• They serve four groups interested in the smooth
operation of the world air transport system:
1. Airlines,
2. The public,
3. Governments, and
4. Third parties such as suppliers and travel and cargo
agents.

Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA)
• It represents countries in the Pacific and Asia
that have united to achieve a common goal,
namely excellence in travel and tourism growth
in this vast region.
• Its work has been to promote tourism through
programs of research, development, education,
and marketing.
• PATA has gained a reputation for outstanding
accomplishment among similar world
organizations.

• Ministry of Tourism and culture (Motac) is under
Malaysian government.

• Tourism Malaysia or Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board (MTPB) is
an agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Malaysia.
• Formerly known as the Tourist Development
Corporation of Malaysia (TDC), was established on
10 August, 1972. It was then under the former
Ministry of Trade and Industry.

• Memperkasakan komuniti luar bandar melalui aktiviti pelancongan luar
bandar.

FUNGSI
• Menggubal dasar pelancongan negara bagi mencapai visi, misi dan objektif
kementerian.
• Melaksanakan dasar-dasar berkaitan dengan perkembangan dan
pembangunan industri pelancongan.
• Menyelaras, memantau dan menilai keberkesanan program dan projek
pelancongan.

Malaysia.
• To make representation to the relevant Government
Agencies, authorities and parties on behalf of the members.
• To represent the common interest off all the budget hotels
in Malaysia and specifically the members of the
Association.

• To promote excellent services and skills among employees
of the members for the long term benefits of the members.

between members whenever its arbitration is requested
by both parties concerned.

• To promote and improve the art of cooking as well as to uphold
and enhance the image of the chefs in Malaysia, both locally
and internationally, on promoting the heritage of Malaysia and
food product of it.
