Detailed Lesson Plan in


ENGLISH 7

Date: March 07, 2019 – Thursday (7:00-8:00 AM)

I. OBJECTIVES

A. Content Standard:

The learner demonstrates understanding of: contemporary Philippine literature as a means


of responding to the demands of the global village; various extended text types; lexical and
contextual cues; appropriate and polite oral language, stance, and behavior; and use of
imperatives, prepositions, verbs, and wh-questions.

B. Performance Standard:

learner transfers learning by: explaining the need to be cooperative and responsible in
today’s global village; using appropriate strategies to comprehend extended text types; using
lexical and contextual clues to understand unfamiliar words and expressions; using
imperatives, prepositions, and appropriate and polite oral language, stance and behavior in
various information-sharing formats.

III. LEARNING RESOURCES:

A. Materials: Task sheets, video clip titled “The Cooking Master”, power point
presentation, rubric, and teacher’s made visual

IV. PROCEDURE:

A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson

“Pass the Ball” Activity


A ball will be passed among the students while music plays. When the music stops
the student where the ball stops will give his/her insights about the previous lesson. This will
be done three times.
Tell the students to give three claps to those who shared their insights.

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson


“Let’s Cook It”
Present a video clip titled “The Cooking Master” to the class. While watching the
video clip, let the students jot down notes about the steps in cooking the given delicacy.
Afterwards let them share to the class the steps they have taken from the video clip. Then
ask them what they have noticed in the statements given. Let them share their answers to
class.
C. Presenting examples/Instances of the new lesson

After processing the answers of the students, she will then ask them to give some
steps in dancing that they can still remember from their P.E. class. Let them analyze the
sentences they will give and from the answers elicited from the students the topic will
then be introduced.

D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills # 1 & #2

Discussion proper

A power point about Imperatives will be presented to the class.The students


will be encouraged to give their ideas and questions during the discussion for better
understanding.

While the teacher is discussing, she will present pictures expressing instruction.
She will then ask random students to observe the pictures and give an imperative
sentence out of it. After giving their own sentences, let the students read all together
the sentences they have given and point out the action words they have used.

E. Developing mastery
“Variety Show”
Divide the class into three (3) groups according to their interests: group
1(Acting), group 2(Cooking), group 3(Dancing). Have each group perform
differentiated tasks. Let each group accomplish the task within 15 minutes.
Before they go to their respective group mates, the teacher will assign them
designated areas conducive to their activity. After the teacher assigns their respective
areas she will clarify the rules that they should follow while accomplishing their tasks
for them to be more organized and disciplined.

Group 1 (Presenting a skit)


The first group will perform a short skit making use of
imperatives.

Group 2 (Do Your Own Cooking Demo)


The second group will present a simple cooking demo using
imperatives showing the steps in cooking their desired menu.

Group 3 (Zumperative)
The third group will compose a song for a Zumba exercise using
imperatives to instruct the steps of the dance. Let them practice the
steps at the covered court so they will be comfortable moving around.
Let each group present their works to the class. Each groups’ activity will be graded
according to the attached rubrics.

F. Finding practical application of concepts and skills in daily living

Ask them this question.

Let the students accomplish Task 8 C using task sheets provided by the teacher
where they will fill in the blanks with the correct verbs to complete the thoughts of the
sentences.
