1) A 500 W lamp having C . P of 800 is suspended 3 m above the working plane, calculate:
2 ) The Illumination at point on a working plane directly below the lamp is to be 80 lumens / m 2 . the
lamp gives 180 C.P uniformly below the horizontal plane . Determine:
3 ) An Illumination of 25 lux is to be produce on the floor of a room 12m × 9 m . 18 lamps are required
to be produce this Illumination in the room , if 50% of the emitted light falls on the floor . what's the
power of the lamp in candela ?
4) A factory area is 40 m long , 20 m wide and is 8 m high . point source luminaires are suspended 1.5
meters below celling levels . The working plane is 1 meter high. Calculate the minimum number of
luminaires which must be installed to conform with a recommended SHR of 1.5 : 1
5 ) Estimate the number and wattage of lamps which would be required to illuminate a workshop space
60 m × 15 m by means of lamps mounted 5 m above the working plane . The average Illumination
required 100 lux . Coefficient of utilization = 0.42, maintenance factor = 0.8, luminous = 16 lm / W, space
– height ratio = unity
