ABSTRACT

Ancient people used talking drums and smoke signals to communicate with other. But today we

can wirelessly communicate across the planet. Telecom has become a symbol of human

development. The telecoms industry is currently facing major transformation. Providers are

trying to redefine their image and their relationship with the business and customer.

In the process of advancement in telecom industry , there is a huge need for a strong backbone

and core network . So, to create a strong backbone we need an assessment that includes an

anticipated return on our investment, understanding the equipment involved in the network,

implement some wireless-specific security measures to ensure that our wireless

communications are secure, understand our options & configure our network so that our

systems can run quickly and more efficiently.

Routers are communication devices used to connect two different networks. A router sorts

incoming data and distributes it to the correct destination. For example, if you have a network

within a single office building, many different devices from within the network may access

resources outside the network. The best example of this would be the Internet. A router ensures

that requests from within the network for information over the Internet are distributed to the

correct computer within the network.

Hence the selection of proper hardware/ routers and configuration of its parameters is

an essential job to keep our network up & running with efficiency.
