IMAGING AND DESIGN FOR ONLINE ENVIRONMENT

IMAGE- a representation of the external form of a person or thing in art.

IMAGES maybe 2- dimensional such as photograph or screen display or 3- dimensional such as a statue
or hologram.

GRAPHICS are visual images or design on some surface, such as wall, canvas, screen, paper or stone to
inform, illustrate or entertain

LAYOUT is a part of graphic design that deals in the arrangement of visual elements on a page

TYPOGRAPHY
- is the art and technique of arranging type to make written language legible, readable and appealing.

- is an essential building block in a poster. Choosing the right font can create the impression the text is succinct and neatly
put together. Try writing the same text using different font faces and you will see how selecting an adequate font can
actually do wonders.

SERIF – a slight projection finishing off a stroke letter in certain typefaces. There’s small decorative
flourishes on the end. Example times new roman, Georgia, platino and Garamond

TYPOGRAPHY POSTERS DESIGN


Text typography has really set a great trend in 2012 and its not stopping here we can see lots more creative and remarkable
work in 2013 . Experimenting with the right choice of font, splashing with bold or plain colors, and designing it in different
perspective are elements that works on typography. It uses on logos, posters, and websites. It does not only attract visitors
attention but also create a cool look on your website.

TYPOGRAPHY TIPS
-Kern your titles
- Make sure your body copy isn’t too big or too small for the medium you are printing onto
- Try to avoid using too many typefaces at once
- Left-alignment is easiest to read for large bodies of type
- If in doubt, print it out (you can often pick up on awkward typesetting much easier when it’s on page)

LINES can be defined as any linear marks. It can also channel certain ideas too. Straight ones can evoke
order and neatness, wavy lines can create movement, and zig-zagged lines can imply tension or
excitement.

SCALE Is the deliberate sizing of individual elements. It can help us make sense of designs and images.

COLOUR creates specific moods, atmospheres, channels emotions and each shade has certain specific
connotations associated with it. In short, colour can make or break your design.

REPETITION is a key element when it comes to branding, but it can also make for beautiful one-off
designs. For example, repetition is a key ingredient when it comes to creating patterns and textures. is a
crucial element when it comes to branding design, both in terms of keeping your branding consistent and
in terms of tying your items together.

NEGATIVE SPACE is the ‘space in between’, the area between or around other elements that form its
own shape

SYMMETRY is used a lot in logos in order to create a harmonious and balanced design.
FRAMING can enhance or draw attention to specific elements of your design. It helps to highlight, crop
and decorate elements.

CONTRAST is the degree of difference between two elements of your design. It has a great effect on
readability and legibility as well.

COMPOSITION refers to the overall arrangement of elements in your design.
