Environmental Awareness is understanding the fragility of our environment

and the importance of its protection. Promoting environmental awareness is an easy
way to become an environmental steward and participate in creating a brighter
future for our children. Grew in the second half of the twentieth century. With this
awareness, the public demand for environmental safeguards and remedies to
environmental problems became an expectation of a greater role in our society.

The team choose this campaign because as a student we believe that

environment gives our basic need that includes all living and non-living objects. We
live in the environment and use the environmental resources like air, land and water
to meet our needs. Aside from that, it also includes the development that helps
meeting the needs of the people. Using any environmental resource such as ground
water beyond its limit of replacement, we may lose it forever. Therefore, there is a
need to create awareness about Environmental protection. While efforts are being
made at the national and international level to protect our environment, it is also the
responsibility of every citizen to use our environmental resources with care and
protect them from degradation. In this campaign we discuss the meaning and causes
of environmental degradation and the importance of environmental conservation.

Environment constitutes a very important part of our life. To understand life

without studying the impact of environment is simply impossible. The need to protect
environment can be ignored only at our peril. We use environmental resources in our
day to day life. These resources are renewable and non-renewable. All human
activities have an impact on environment. But in the last two centuries or so, the
human influence on environment has increased manifold due to the rapid population

Environment Awareness includes interactions and relationships among the
natural elements- living, nonliving and man-made. It is the sum total of external
factors, substances and conditions which influence organisms without their intrinsic
part. Environment includes water, air, land, the interrelationship which exists among
and between water, air and land, and human beings, other living creatures, plants,
micro-organisms and property.
We choose this this Environmental awareness campaign because it is the most
important aspect of environmental sustainability. Promoting awareness and
education are the most useful and essential in order to obtain a more sustainable
approach to preserve our environment. From the beginning of this module, we have
defined sustainability as the capacity to endure. In ecology terms, it is how biological
systems remain diverse and productive over time. On the other hand, for us humans,
it is the potential for long-term maintenance of wellbeing, which in turn depends on
the wellbeing of the natural world and the responsible use of natural resources. There
is just so much the ecology can do to preserve the environment. As such, it is really
up to the human beings to decide how and what they want to do. The actions will
reflect whether we are considering, or are intending to consider for the environment.
Afterall, what we do is going to affect the place we are living in, and ultimately
ourselves.
In order for people to start out in their role of sustaining the environment, we
must first understand the meaning and reason behind this action. We have to
understand what exactly the place we are living in is and what is it going through. If
people do not have an idea of the environment, Hence, environmental awareness is a
need. We cannot begin with sustainability without first having awareness. Perhaps,
this is what the world is lacking. The few people who are aware and have a good
understanding of the current status of the environment focus largely on coming up
with big projects to fight the problems with only their own efforts. These people
might think that it takes indefinite amount of effort and time to educate and create
awareness.

Environmental education is one of the important areas, which is gaining

prominence in the modern world. Many worldwide discussions are going on
regarding the solutions for environmental problems that aims at attaining
sustainable development. Educating people is one of the measures to bring the
needed awareness and sensitivity towards protecting the environment.

We choose this because in the past two decades, environment has attracted
the attention of decision makers, scientists and even laymen in many parts of the
world. They are becoming increasingly conscious of issues such as famines, droughts,
floods, scarcity of fuel, firewood and fodder, pollution of air and water, problems of
hazardous chemicals and radiation, depletion of natural resources, extinction of
wildlife and dangers to flora and fauna. People are now aware of the need to protect
the natural environmental resources of air, water, soil and plant life that constitute
the natural capital on which man depends. The environmental issues are important
because the absence of their solutions is more horrible. Unless environmental issues
are not solved or not taken care of the coming generations may find earth worth not
living. The need of the planet and the needs of the person have become one. There is
no denying the fact that environment has to be protected and conserved so to make
future life possible. Indeed, man's needs are increasing and accordingly the
environment is also being altered, indeed, nature's capacity is too accommodating
and too regenerative yet there is a limit to nature's capacity, especially when pressure
of exploding population and technology keep mounting. What is required is the
sustenance, conservation and improvement of the changing and fragile environment.

The knowledge of environmental education is very important for everyone in

this web of life. It helps to create awareness and an understanding of the evolving
social and physical environment as a whole, its natural, man-made resources for
development of the society. Environmental education is vitally important to find ways
to avoid self- destruction

The Environmental issues are major global problem of important concern. Due
to increasing human population and developments in every sector, the environmental
related issues are multiplying in the recent years with a diversity of problems
focusing the ultimate need for alternative sustainable technologies to safeguard our
mother nature. The human’s desire to modern technologies and changing life style
patterns pose serious threat on the environment and due to the fact, the pollution
levels are alarming day by day. In order to achieve the sustainable and equitable
developments, it is so significant to choose policies and programme that support
efficient use of resources and implement technologies which show the way to reduce
the environmental damage, thus result in sustainable development.

We choose this environmental awareness campaign because the impacts of

the environmental issues are affecting not only at the local level and it is global
problem of important phenomena. Many industrial and infrastructural
developments, human population growth and urbanization, plastic usage, electronic
wastes, vehicular emissions, depletion of biodiversity, contamination of pollutants in
the water bodies, soil and atmospheric pollution have devastated the natural
environment causing severe ill health effects on human beings. Many developed
countries are slowly finding several alternative and innovative technologies to
minimize the effects of pollution and optimal utilization of the natural sources. In the
recent years, several places around the world have been devastated due to natural
disasters, heavy floods and extreme climate change effects have affected several lives.

As a student, should be inculcated the effective and optimal use of our natural
resources and energy to safeguard our mother nature and also to revisit the
traditional practices in conserving our resources in order to attain sustainability in
all levels and healthy feature. There is a dire need of environmental awareness on
every aspect of the environment and conservation of natural resources and
biodiversity so as to produce socially responsible citizens of the tomorrow.

Environmental awareness means that the environmental perspective is taken

into consideration in decision making and the selection of products and services. It
does not guarantee a positive behaviour towards the environment in the absence of
awareness and appreciation for the environment. Creating better environmental
practices among the school students is one of such initiative to achieve environmental
protection by inculcating moral values and sustainable practices among them to
develop as role model in the society.
As a 21st century learner we choose this campaign because environmental
awareness helps to protect our natural environment, the health and well-being of our
citizens, increasing awareness in environmental issues. It also facilitates the
participation of Non-Governmental Organisations and civil society. By educating
people it helps to emphasizes the need to instil values so as to create a pro-
environmental concern. This in turn develops attitudes which generate responsibility
towards sustainable living. Through the help of education this can empower citizens
so they can bring about change within their societies. With the help of creativity and
co-operation, learning can be more effective towards ensuring that all species are in
equilibrium with their environment. This involves helping our students to be creators
of knowledge rather than absorbing and regurgitating it. They need to question
established norms so as to reach new heights in their thinking patterns. Through
education one can increase public awareness and knowledge about present
environmental issues or problems. This will equip the public with the necessary skills
to make informed decisions and take responsible action.
In order to act effectively, individuals and social groups need to acquire the
skills needed to act in favour of the environment in terms of the ecological, political,
economic, social, aesthetic and educational factors. In order for this to function
effectively, mutual respect between all members of society is required, while trying
to eliminate any practices that may harm the environment

Environmental Awareness is about being aware of the environment. The
environment refers to all flora and fauna, including all marine and wildlife areas.
Planet Earth faces an increasing number of environmental challenges, including
climate change, global warming, water scarcity, droughts, deforestation, floods,
pollution. It helps us to become aware of the worth of a good quality living
environment and of the dangers that threaten us.

As what Mahatma Gandhi said “The Earth provides enough to satisfy every
man’s needs, but not every man’s greed”. This means that the Environment is used to
represent an entire systems, geology, and climate. An Environment can be any scale,
including global, regional, local, and even down to single locations, and things like
buildings. Often the phrase ‘the environment’ is used to denote the global
environment, or a larger regional environment.

We choose environmental awareness as our campaign because the main goal

of our groups is to increase awareness because that is the only way to develop a more
sustainable world. Accordingly, all environmental awareness must begin with
education. Today, the media greatly shapes what the general population thinks about
the environment. Often, the news does not go into detail about the causes of an event,
such as a flood, and spends much more time on the newest celebrity couple or
terrorist event. Such treatment by the media greatly reduces the impact of
environmental events.

Our mother earth is facing a lot of environmental concern. We all live on the
same planet, so we all share the same resources. Depletion of the Earth's resources
will impact the whole humanity, our collective quality of life, and our own collective
resources. Let us do something for Mother Earth. If we change our consumerist
lifestyle and become more environmentally friendly, we can improve the condition of
our environment. Let us protect her so that she can remain safe and well. Only when
our planet is well can we humankind be safe and well. To give back to the Earth for
all that she has provided to us, let us all take care of our planet together.
