Background of the Business

The first entrepreneur I interviewed is my father, Maximo D. Bagui. He has a piggery


business and this business help my father to raise our family. According to my father, Mr.
Maximo D. Bagui, “My father helps me to start this small business after our wedding of my wife
Aileen M. Bagui.” Thus, he started his business last January 1994 with only 7 sows and the
capital is around 21,000.00 pesos. He also said that; her mother which is my grandmother is also
the reason why the piggery grows at it is today because she is the one who helps and support my
grandfather in everything. Many years later his business grow because of their hard work since it
is the key to be successful and to reach their goal.

The characteristics, attitude, behavior of the entrepreneur

The characteristics, attitude, behaviour of the entrepreneur I interviewed are: 1. They


have passion for the business. 2. Believe in yourself and in your business and that you will be
successful. 3. Trustworthy 4. Competitive. First, Passion, have passion for your business because
having passion for your business will help you to have a better business or even to be successful.
According to Mr. Maximo, he has a passion because of his father that taught him how to develop
passion to a business and despite the difficulties that the business undoubtedly will face, passion
keeps you going. Second, believe in yourself, for him believing in our own selves/ himself will
avoid negative impact to his business. Third, Trustworthy, “I trust people who help and become
part of my business like my “paiwihan” because they are also one of the reasons my I am here
today. And lastly, to become competitive, in a way that he doesn’t let his business down and he
had his own strategies against many competitors.

Integration of the entrepreneurs ideas

In our class the Entrepreneurial Behavior that we’ve discussed are the different
characteristics of entrepreneurs like being confident in the ability to succeed, Moderate Risk
taker, responsible, future oriented, has a desire for immediate feedback, High level of energy.
Some of the characteristics that we discussed are applied to the behaviour and characteristics of
the interviewee. Through this interview, I realized that I should adopt those characteristics and
behaviors of my father given the fact that he is now a successful entrepreneur. By this it helps me
understand more why it is necessary to have those characteristics to become future entrepreneur.
