Theme: Positive outlook toward the Self (Self-Esteem)

Overall Objective:

a. To help the participants realize their worth


b. Help them become aware of the significance impact of believing in one’s value
c. Positive attitude towards coping with the daily affairs of life

Rationale:

Developing self-esteem is important because it influences individual’s choices and decisions in


life. It also serves as a motivational function that helps people stand on their own or to be independent.
The activity will help the patients become more self reliant. This will also help them boost their
confidence, discover new skills and enhance their talents.

Energizer: Zumba

Facilitator: Mary Grace Mateo

Allotted Time: 5 minutes

Materials: Video

a. The facilitator will play a Zumba video that will be followed by the participants lead by the
interns.

Ice Breaker: Affirm your Self

Facilitator: Archelle Ortega

Allotted Time: 10 minutes

Materials: List of Scenes

a. The facilitator will group the participants into 3 by assigning each participant a number from 1 to
3. The number they are assigned with will be their group number.
b. The group will select a word that best describe their team or word of affirmation.
c. Each group will be given 3 minutes to prepare.
d. Right after, the facilitator will point the microphone to the team randomly. If the microphone is
pointed to a team they will shout their word of affirmation.
e. The activity will continue until one group remains.

Activity 1: Moment of My Life

Facilitator: Archelle Ortega

Allotted Time: 15 minutes

Materials: A sheet of paper and pencil/ pen, Positive Music


Mechanics:

a. Distribute a sheet of paper and pencil/pen to every participant


b. Let the participant list down at least two of their most unforgettable moments of their life.
c. While the participants are doing the activity, background music will be played. The music will
serve as the time limit; once the music has ended the participants will now give their list to the
facilitator.
d. Once they are done, the facilitator will pick one participant as the first presenter. The
participant shall present and describe their drawings.
e. The lists submitted by the participants will be used for the next activity.

Activity 2: Paint Me a Picture

Facilitator: Mary Grace Mateo

Allotted Time: 15 minutes

Materials: List of Scenes

Mechanics:

a. The facilitator will group the participants into 4 by assigning each participant a number from
1 to 4.
b. The facilitator will draw a paper from the bowl that was made from the first activity. The
group will only pick a single scene from the list.
c. Each group will be given 3 minutes to plan and another 3 minutes to perform.

MAIN ACTIVITY: LET’S CHEER

Facilitator: Valerie Estilong

Allotted Time: 20 minutes

Materials: List of Scenes

Mechanics:

a. The facilitator will group the participants into 4 by assigning each participant a number from 1 to
4.
b. Each group will be given 5 to 8 minutes to create a jingle accompanied by body movements and
practice.
c. 1 to 2 minutes will be given to each group to perform their jingle in front.

How important is your self esteem?

When you value yourself enough and when you have good self-esteem, you will feel secured
and worthy. You will create positive relationships with others and you will feel confident about your
skills and abilities. You will less likely to rely on others and become more self reliant. You will also be
open to new learning as well as criticism which will help you acquire and master new skills.

Importance:

 Assertive in expressing your needs and opinions


 Confident in your ability in decision making
 More resilient and will help you overcome stress and bounce back from setbacks
 Help you form secured and honest decision
 Realistic in your expectations and less likely to be over critical for yourself and others
