Topic : Descriptive Text Level : Junior High School


Time Allocation : 2 X 40 minutes Class/Semester : VII / 2

A. Standard Competence:

Expressing the meaning of written functional text and short simple essays in form of
descriptive to interact with the immediate environment.

B. Larning Objective:
At the end of the lesson, the students are supposed to be able to write the descriptive text
with the correct text structure.
C. Learning Materials :
a. The example of descriptive text
b. Give explanation about descriptive text
a) Purpose : To describe a particular place / things / person
b) Generic Structure :
1. Identification (explain about general information of the person, place or
thing that is described)
For example a descriptive text about an actress, the identification is about
the introduction of the actress’ name, the age of the actress, where he or
she comes from
2. Description (explain about spesific information)
For example the hair, eyes, nose, what she or he wears, and all about the
characteristic of the actress.
D. Social Function : Describing, introducing, identificating, critize place, thing, or
person.
E. Language Feature :
1. Declarative and interogative sentence in simple present tense.
2. Singular and plural noun with or without a, the, this, those, my, their, etc.
3. Pronounciation, intonation, spelling, punctuation, and handwriting
F. Learning Method : PPP ( Presentation, practice, production)
G. Learning Media : BSE “When English Rings a Bell”, Kahoot, Prezi
H. Learning Sources : BSE “When English Rings a Bell”, Google, etc.
