Cut Nyak Dhien


Cut Nyak Dhien was born in Aceh Besar 1848. Her father, Teuku Nanta Setia,
and her mother were also from an aristocrat family. She was educated in religion and
household matters. Many men proposed to her until her parents arranged for her
marriage to Teuku Cek Ibrahim Lamnga when she was twelve.
In November 1873, during the second Aceh Expedition, the Dutch
successfully captured VI mukim in 1873, followed by the Sulthan's Palace in1874. In
1875, Cut Nyak Dhien and her baby, along with other mothers, were evacuated to a
safer location while her husband Ibrahim Lamnga died in action in Gle Tarum on
June 29, 1878.
Sometime after the death of her husband, and Acehnese hero Teuku Umar
proposed to her. Althought she rejected him at first, she accepted his proposal as long
as Umar allowed her to fight, and they were married in 1880. Teuku Umar and Cut
Nyak Dhien have a daughter named Cut Gambang. Dhien was very determined to
stay in the war so she took her daughter in with her.
The war continued, and the Acehnese declared a holy war against the Dutch.
Teuku Umar was killed during the battle. When Cut Gambang cried over his death,
Cut Nyak Dhien hugged her and said: "As Acehnese women, we may not shed tears
for those who have been martyred."

HOW TO USE WASHING MACHINE


1. Separate clothes if a shirt is light, but has darker designs on it, you should

your clothes. You need to know if your washing machine uses high efficiency
detergent – which is liquid – or normal detergent, which is a powder. Use the
right kind of detergent and pour it into the right spot.
7. Turn on your washer. Ah, sweet success, now all you have to do is hit that
“ON” button and you’re ready to go.

Komodo dragon is a member of the monitor family, Varanidae. It is the


world's largest living lizards. It grows to be 10 feet (3 meters) long and weighs up to
126 kg and belong to the most ancient group of lizards still alive.
It is found mainly in the island of Komodo and on other small islands, Rinca,
Padar, and Flores. The natives call the dragon or buaya darat (land crocodile).
Komodo dragon has a long heavy tail, short, strong legs, and rough skin. It is
covered with small dull, colored scales. It can sprint at up 18 km per hours, but only
for short distances. When it opens its wide red moth, it shows row of teeth like the
edge of a saw.
Komodo dragons are good simmers and may swim the long distance from
one island to another. Like other lizards, they swim by undulating their tails and
their legs held against their body.
Komodo dragon is totally carnivorous. It hunts other animals during the day.
It hunts deer, wild pigs, water buffaloes, and even horses. While, smaller komodos
have to be content with eggs, other lizards, snakes and rodents. Komodo dragons are
cannibals. The adult will prey on the young one as well as the old and sick dragons.
Lizard digs a cave with its strong claws in the cave at night.

in Sydney Opera House. There are also studios, halls, restaurants, bars and many
souvenir shops. The design of the Opera House is very unique. The roof looks

body full of ulcer. Then, Kadita’s body was full of ulcer. It smelled bad. The beautiful
princess cried. The king was very sad. No one could cure his daughter’s illness. The king did
not want her daughter to be a rumour so he sent his daughter away.
The poor princess did not know where to go. However, she had a noble heart. She did
not have any bad feeling about her stepmother. She walked for almost seven days and seven
nights. Then, she came to the South Ocean. The ocean was so clean and clear. She jump into
the water and swam.
Suddenly, there was a miracle. The ocean water cured her illness. She became more
beautiful than before. She also had a power to command the whole South Ocean. She became
a fairy called Nyi Roro Kidul or the Queen of South Ocean.

The Badui call themselves Urang Kanekes. Urang means people in Sundanese,
Kanekes is the name of their sacred territory, located in the Kendeng Mountain in south
Banten, Java. The Badui rely on controlled interaction with the outside world to maintain the
tradition of their group and to resist Islamisation.
The ability of the Badui to maintain their mysterious image by restricting
communication with the outside world is their strength. They are averse to contact with the
foreigners and are secretive about the nature of their traditions. They are known in Java for

How long the Badui have lived in seclusion is still uncertain. Little is known of their
cultural background, except that their religion reflects elements from both Hinduism and
Buddhism. Their story of resistance to Islam is told in various local legends, which place the
origin of the Badui in the 16th century, when Padjajaran, the last Sundanese kingdom, fell to
Moslem conquerors. According to the legends, the Badui rebelled against Islam, lost and fled
to the mountains where they are today.

Rafflesia is also called “corpse flower” because of its stench. It is the world’s largest
single flower. It has no stems, leaves, or roots, though it does seem to be a plant of some
kind. Some people think that it is related to fungi. The Kew Botanical Gardens website
claims that it related to horsetails, but Wikipedia puts in Malphigiales.
Rafflesia Arnoldii mainly found in forests of Sumatra, Indonesia. Rafflesia Arnoldii
is unisexual. It has both male and female reproduction system. The flower of Rafflesia
Arnoldii grows to a diameter of around 1 m (3 feet), …(3) the greatest measurement from are
reliable source is 105 cm (3,4 feet) found in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra Province, measured
