DELIVERING A
STYLISH SUPPLY
CHAIN SOLUTION

the supply chain journey involved. Manufacturers, wholesalers,

demanding consumers who want the goods they’ve ordered in

and has designed and developed facilities for rapid delivery with its
supply chain partner Dematic. Utilising Dematic’s flexible, scalable,
integrated order fulfilment and distribution technologies, and smart
logistics software, Toll’s new state-of-the-art distribution centre is

Message from the organisers
Welcome to the 13th SMART - Supply Chain & Logistics
Conference & Expo 2017
SMART Conference has been continuously held biennially for 24 years for the benefit of the supply chain
community. apicsAU has proudly been part of this great event and with Interpoint Events since 2004,
have been endeavouring to provide supply chain professionals opportunity to network with the highest
echelons of the community.
This year’s SMART 2017 theme is “Innovation, Productivity and Performance in the Age of Disruption”. At the conclusion of
SMART 2015, the Board discussed the feedback received and with in-depth discussions on global trends, set the theme and the
thrust for SMART 2017 on the Age of Disruptions.
In the quest for improvement, never before has the effect of disruption been so ruthless as today. The effect on everything
by digital technologies adoption cannot be emphasised enough. If you are in a business environment, you have to really think
out of the box, see and prepare for what is going to come tomorrow. Traditional thinking cannot create any value proposition
anymore which can withstand the challenges of future disruptions.
The SMART 2017 board decided that the programme include not just papers but case studies to present the Innovations,
Productivity and Performance of the supply chain industry. Each stream of Supply Chain Strategy, Transport & Logistics,
Operations Management, Procurement & Purchasing, Leadership & Development and Systems & Technology include many case
studies in the programme covering many aspects that should satisfy the interest of all the professionals looking for excellence.
With international high quality speakers, panel discussions, presentations from academia as well as industry partners from many
blue chip and global companies, it should be a very enlightening two days. The programme also contains the prestigious SMART
Awards which have always received multiple nominations and the where the best are awarded as selected by a respected
judging panel. These awards will be presented at the Supply Chain Industry Awards Dinner. The programme also includes site
visits arranged for delegates.
I am asking all delegates to ensure they take part in all the activities, attend the Awards Dinner, ask questions and ensure you
gain value from the networking opportunities. There is a huge contribution in the whole programme by a team of volunteers to
bring the best possible outcomes. The best respect for that volunteering will be by you all to participate fully. Please also enjoy
the new prestigious venue at the International Convention Centre Sydney.
We must thank our sponsors who have supported the conference, the exhibitors for participating and all who have
contributed to the success of SMART 2017. We look forward to meeting you during the conference and to your continued
support for SMART.

INTERNATIONAL KEYNOTE PRESENTATION 9.20am - 10.05am

Adapt or Die – Successfully Managing the Volatile Supply Chain
CAROL PTAK, Partner, Demand Driven Institute
Today’s detailed planning and scheduling systems are rooted in assumptions and practices from 40 years ago. “Best practices” are no
longer best – they are simply antiquated and in many cases inappropriate. Optimising these inappropriate rules through today’s more
powerful ERP products is fraught with risk. Sustaining competitiveness in the face of rising complexity and volatility in supply chains
requires a fundamentally different approach – a company has a choice – adapt or die. This presentation will describe the simple steps of
the required shift from convention to the emerging principles of Demand Driven operational systems.

CAROL PTAK is currently a partner with the Demand Driven Institute (www.demanddriveninstitute.com) and was most recently at
Pacific Lutheran University as Visiting Professor and Distinguished Executive in Residence. Previously, she was vice president and global
industry executive for manufacturing and distribution industries at PeopleSoft where she developed the concept of demand driven
manufacturing (DDM). Ms. Ptak spent four years at IBM Corporation culminating in the position of global SMB segment executive.
A leading authority in the use of ERP and Supply Chain tools to drive improved bottom line performance, Ms. Ptak’s expertise is well
grounded in four decades of practical experience as a successful practitioner, consultant and educator in manufacturing operations.
Her pragmatic approach to complex issues and dynamic presentation style has her in high demand worldwide on the subject of how to
leverage these tools and achieve sustainable success.

business. Planning processes were manual and lacked visibility. Raw material inventory was high due to no visibility on the production
schedule (often changing) and the raw material lead times being longer than the manufacturing lead time. Systems were implemented
for automated production scheduling and to enable automated raw material purchasing. Planning and purchasing were now based on
exception management. Stable schedule, Full capability to promise orders. Raw material ordering was now based on forward stock/
consumption projections rather than based on average usage. This resulted in raw material inventory reduced proving a significant ROI.

CASE STUDY: SEALED AIR CORPORATION
Schedule Optimisation for Productivity in a High SKU Manufacturing Environment
MIKE ANGLEY, Director Supply Chain ANZ, Sealed Air Corporation
In this case study, innovative optimisation software has been employed to increase productivity in a range of different manufacturing
processes. Various productivity drivers can be employed as optimisation parameters. Schedule optimisation tools have been developed
for a variety of manufacturing processes, optimising for several different productivity drivers. These tools are deployed in a high SKU
environment, where the number of permutations makes optimisation infeasible to do by hand or with existing software. The software
used to do this optimisation was developed in Melbourne by Opturion. It combines constraint programming and artificial intelligence in
order to find a solution to the problem in a timely manner, overcoming the usability and scalability problems of alternative optimisation
tools. Deployment of these tools resulted in up to 10% improvements in productivity as a result of improved scheduling.

MIKE ANGLEY is qualified with BSc(Hons), MBA and CPIM, and has spent his whole career in manufacturing. He is currently Director
Supply Chain for Sealed Air, supplying packaging materials to the Australian market. Responsibilities include over 400 Supply Chain
employees across four sites. Prior experience includes petrochemical manufacturing, injection moulding (Philippines) and the carpet industry.

CASE STUDY: INENCO GROUP

Flying in formation
MARK WATSON, Group Forecasting and Planning Manager, Inenco Group
Inenco faced significant challenges in managing its purchasing, faced with questions such as:
• How does a purchasing team with reduced staff and increasingly complex supply lines manage 600,000+ items over 4 million+ item/
warehouse combinations?
• How do you keep the flow of material into and through the company whilst merging 26 warehouses into four DCs?
The INENCO Group’s solution was to focus on getting its data, processes and systems aligned so that the easy stuff is done easily and
allows the planners to be the planners which were desperately required. Without aligned people, data, business goals and systems, all of
which required significant improvements, this would have been an impossible task.

MARK WATSON has spent his career in the planning arena and been principally focused on how to make the planners day better than
the last. Mark has been involved from both the actual planning of production lines in factories to the design, implementation, support and
improvements of the supply chain planning processes, data and systems on a global scale having covered ranges as diverse as food, video
cassettes, dairy commodities, gaming machines and now industrial goods. In this varied career to date Mark has witnessed the differences
that can be gained from different planning systems, supply chain systems, planner capabilities and overall approaches of different supply
chains to their task of supporting sales and this has put him in good stead to be able to assess extremely diverse product ranges and distil
these down to the basics of good supply chain planning and inventory management. The current challenge is working with a SKU range
that is vastly greater than any he has seen before where a reduction to 650,000 items was met with relief when compared to its’ peak at
975,000. How to manage this large portfolio during a time of significant change within the company, supply chain, data and org structure has
resulted in seeking how to do more with less and get a significantly better outcome, especially when there remain many sceptics.

The Bimodal Supply Chain: Tackling Today, Preparing for Tomorrow
JAMES LISICA, Research Director Asia Pacific - Global Supply Chain & Logistics, Gartner
Rapid growth in digital business and CEOs’ dual focus on growth and cost combine to create today’s unique supply chain challenges and
opportunities. As a result, supply chains must work on two tracks simultaneously, delivering day-in-day-out efficiency and reliability, whilst
at the same time creating game-changing innovation to drive growth and value. This is referred to as bimodal: Fast and slow. Traditional
and revolutionary.
This session will examine three key questions to guide supply chain leaders through this bimodal journey:
• What is a bimodal supply chain?
• How do I develop bimodal supply chain capabilities?
• When should I become bimodal?

JAMES LISICA is a Research Director specialising in global logistics strategy. Possessing over 20 years of operational experience
covering all sectors of the supply chain and logistics offering, Mr. Lisica has held a range of senior management roles with some of
the world’s largest logistics organisations. Specifically, he helps large multinationals optimise their logistics strategies in order to drive
efficiency, cost and sustainability gains across their global operations.

1 SUPPLY CHAIN STRATEGY 2.00pm - 2.30pm
PAPER: Seven Macro Developments Shaping Supply Chain Management
DR STEVEN MELNYK, Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management, Michigan State University
Supply chains continue to change. In this presentation, we focus on seven developments that promise to change the future face of supply
chain management. These include: (1) the Internet of Things (IoT), (2) the aging of the developed countries; (3) the increasing volatility of
energy prices; (4) the shifting of purchasing power to the East; (5) the emergence of the experiential supply chain; (6) advances in digital
and autonomous technology; and, (7) the increasing importance of cyber security. This presentation explores these developments and their
implications for the supply chain of the future; it also studies how these developments will impact management style. A new type of supply
chain leader is needed – one who focuses on business, not supply chain, excellence, who recognises that measures are communication,
and who engages in fast decision-making. Those firms that can recognise and take advantage of this new supply chain will thrive and grow.

DR STEVEN MELNYK is Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management (Ph.D. – The Ivey School, University of Western
Ontario, 1981) at Michigan State University. He is an active researcher with 17 co-authored books on operations and supply chain
management and over 90 refereed research articles. His research interests include supply chain and design, metrics/system
measurement, responsiveness supply chains, supply chain design, sustainability, and strategic supply chain management. Dr. Melnyk is
an active researcher whose articles have appeared in over 90 international and national refereed journals. Dr. Melnyk sits on the editorial
review board of numerous academic refereed journals. He is a sought-after speaker both nationally and internationally. Currently, Dr.
Melnyk is a member of the APICS (USA) Board of Directors for 2016.

PAPER: Challenges for CBD Freight - A perspective from Sydney
MARG PRENDERGAST, CBD Coordinator General, Transport for NSW
Sydney CBD is undergoing a phenomenal level of transformation. There is a significant number of public and private sector
infrastructure projects being undertaken including the closure of George Street, the city’s traditional thoroughfare. Sydney CBD is
a $70BN economy and in the global spotlight. While changes occur, the city needs to continue with business as usual. 630,000
people work in Sydney CBD and rely on 35,000 commercial vehicle movements per day to support their needs. In addition, while the
transformation is occurring, we will need to accommodate high levels of construction traffic. While commercial vehicles play a major
role to keep the CBD supplied, they are only one part of the ecosystem. Freight operators will need to adapt to the new environment.
With the ongoing level of change it is becoming increasingly apparent that this is long term change. This presentation describes how
Transport for NSW is encouraging this change.

MARG PRENDERGAST has been appointed to lead the CBD Coordination office to oversee the planning and operations of traffic,
transport and communications during the transformation of the Sydney CBD and south east with various major transport projects
and property redevelopments. Marg has qualifications in economics and town planning with over 30 years’ experience in transport
across both rail and road including; data analysis, transport planning, safety, project management and the delivery of capital programs,
operational initiatives and events. Marg was Operations Planning Manager for the Olympic Roads and Transport Authority for the Sydney
2000 Olympics and managed the City precinct during Games time. Marg has spent the last decade focused on safety initiatives and was
the General Manager of the NSW Centre for Road Safety.

PAPER: Procurement Fraud - Employment & IR Issues

MATTHEW ROBINSON, Partner, FCB Workplace Law
The rapid uptake in information technology systems, particularly smart phones allowing portable and remote access, has revolutionised
the way business operates in the 21st century. It has also presented significant opportunities for procurement fraud. The integration of
various procurement functions through systems software can result in just a handful of managers/contractors receiving and reporting on
critical inventory controls & distribution management. This tightening can lead to the temptation to collude. Terabytes of business records
can be quickly uploaded to third party offshore servers and either sold on the black market or given away to competitors as part of a
manager’s career aspiration. This presentation will provide an insight into identifying and managing procurement fraud in relation to the
complex overlay of Australian industrial & employment laws.

MATTHEW ROBINSON is a partner and solicitor with FCB Workplace Law. He is an Accredited Specialist in Employment and Industrial
Law in New South Wales. Based in our Sydney office, he has been advising clients on industrial relations and employment matters for
over fifteen years. An experienced litigator, he has special expertise in assisting clients operating in the manufacturing sector.

PAPER: Master Your Slotting Initiatives: Implementing Slotting Maintenance For Continued Benefit
DAN BASMAJIAN, President and CEO, Optricity
Employing a well-designed slotting optimisation strategy within the distribution centre offers many benefits that, in turn, support
increased productivity and reduce operational costs. Implementing a new slotting technique can address space utilisation, pick path
travel reductions, the building of more stable pallets, improved ergonomics, and associate safety. Within dynamic distribution centres,
the environment can change swiftly due to seasonality and promotional activity, changing SKU mix, daily and weekly changes in product
velocities, and more. Although a re-slot strategy on its own can improve slotting drastically, it is important to also understand the value
of slot maintenance. This presentation will tackle how to move product with purpose by promoting an understanding of the benefits,
mechanics and timing of slotting re-sets, as well as when to utilise, and how to best implement, a successful slot maintenance strategy.
Case study examples and real world scenarios will illustrate mastery techniques implemented for success.

DAN BASMAJIAN, inventor of the first, commercially available slotting software, sold his first company, Performance Analysis
Corporation, to Manhattan Associates (MA) in 1998. Retiring as a senior executive, after helping to take MA public, he later returned
to industry as a CEO in the technology sector. Dan joined Sheila and Chuck at Optricity in January of 2006 after advising several
technology start-up ventures. Dan is a world-renowned warehousing optimisation domain expert, innovator, and a globally, sought-after
industry speaker. A graduate of Duke University’s, Fuqua MBA program, Dan has lectured on small business in Russia, and provided
in-person, industry presentations in the US, Europe, and in Australia. His web presentations have reached over a thousand requested
downloads. A recognised thought leader, Dan is the author or co-author of many warehousing optimisation whitepapers and articles
distributed online and in industry-leading publications globally.

PAPER: Tips and Traps of Indirect Expenses

OLIVER LAZAREVIC, Chief Executive Officer, Supply Clusters
With limited resources, most procurement professionals heavily concentrate their efforts on direct expense purchases. Indirect expense
categories are typically a low priority and therefore not focused on. Such expenses include stationery, facilities management, insurance,
energy, travel, foreign exchange, waste, fuel, consumables and work wear. A lack of volume, in-house expertise, understanding of market
trends, data, policy controls and relationships can make the management of indirect expenses a real challenge. Individually indirect
expense categories may not be a large spend for an organisation. However, the effective management of indirect expenses as a group of
expenses can have a material impact on the bottom line of an organisation. This presentation will look to provide some insight on how to
deal with indirect expenses for your organisation.

Over the last two decades, OLIVER LAZAREVIC has helped hundreds of organisations improve their bottom line by improving indirect
expense supplier engagements. Whilst working in Business Supplies industries, Oliver has engaged all market segments from Small
Business through to Enterprise across the Corporate, Government, Health & Education sectors. In January 2014 Oliver took up the

position of Joint CEO of Supply Clusters. An organisation formed in 1994 with the sole purpose of educating, enabling and empowering
its customers to make better buying decisions regarding indirect expenses. In his experience, Oliver has found that most organisations
struggle with managing indirect expenses effectively due to the lack of focus and expertise. Oliver has been invited to speak at many
conferences on the topic of how to get the best business outcomes on an area which is typically a low priority.

CASE STUDY: WOOLWORTHS
Building a high productivity Supply Chain through Product Flow-Path Optimisation
GREG BECROFT, Head of Processes, Woolworths Limited
Through the creation of a Supply Chain ‘Centre of Excellence’ and the use of Innovative technology Woolworths has been able to identify
and improve service from its already highly efficient Supply Chain. The process of moving your products from supply through production
and eventually distributing them out to customers or stores presents a myriad of choices. The collective set of these choices makes up
a product’s flow-path through the supply chain. Modeling these flows can provide you with a total landed cost or total cost-to-serve for
each product. Modeling all the alternative flow options and using smart algorithms to determine the best choice can lead to significant
cost reductions. Woolworths’ 50,000+ SKUs can be moved through its Supply chain network that includes 2 National DCs, 17 Regional
DCs and Direct to Store options. In addition products can be short shelf life, chilled, or frozen. By modelling and then Optimising for each
product and its anticipated demand, Woolworths has been able to significantly decrease Inventory holding and handling costs whilst
improving Cost to Serve to its stores.

GREG BECROFT is the Head of Process for Woolworths Group Supply Chain. His role at Woolworths combines more than 19 years retail
experience, responsible for Process, Strategy, Business Architecture and Analytics of Woolworths Supply Chain.
He has spent the last 3 years leading the design of business transformation for Woolworths Group Supply Chain. During this time Greg
and his team looked for new ways of working across replenishment, store operations, vendor relationships and supply chain to deliver a
more nimble and efficient end-to-end supply chain that enables the business to meet customer needs.

study looks at the leadership and behavioural attributes of CSCOs, compares regional supply chain leaders with those who have a global
responsibility. The study shows how CSCOs are different from other executives as well as from CEOs, and what route CSCOs have taken
in the past to step up to a CEO role.

1 SUPPLY CHAIN STRATEGY 2.00pm - 2.30pm
PAPER: Designing networks to support tailored supply chains
DEBORAH ELLIS, Partner, Gattorna Alignment
Supply chain network design projects, and using modelling tools to support such projects, are now more common and more feasible.
But the key question that should be asked at the beginning of such exercises – ‘what are we designing to achieve’ – is often overlooked.
This presentation will look at the steps needed to make the ‘big’ decisions – such as facility location and sourcing strategy, in a more
considered and cross-functional way, to enable the business to deliver tailored supply chains that align with the what our different types
of customers’ value, rather than providing a ‘one-size-fits all’ solution. Case Studies of Gattorna Alignment projects from three dissimilar
industries: industrial, fashion and grain handling will be used to illustrate the argument.

DEBORAH ELLIS is a partner at Gattorna Alignment, and has been a logistics and supply chain consultant for over twenty years. Prior to
this she managed logistics operations for Master Foods and in Swire companies. As a consultant she has led strategy and network design
projects in Australia, Asia, Europe, and North and South America; and across diverse industries including agriculture (grain and red meat),
banking (cash distribution), consumer goods, industrial, mining and even high-end fashion! Recent clients include Schneider Electric (with
projects in Australia, China, Brazil, India and the US), CBH Grain, Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA), Unilever, Shell and Ralph Lauren.

2 TRANSPORT & LOGISTICS 2.00pm - 2.30pm

PAPER: How scheduling software can deliver market advantage
JOOST BEKKER, Business Development Director, PTV Group
The new generation of software solutions for vehicle scheduling and route optimisation can assist businesses to remain competitive in
the logistics industry. The Australian logistics industry is facing new challenges and profit margins are under pressure. The two greatest
challenges have been identified as increasing cost pressure and growing customer demand (service). These topics can be dealt with
through standardisation, and above all, digitalisation and automation of work processes. In this presentation we will focus on final mile
delivery management and demonstrate how software solutions for vehicle scheduling and route optimisation will support the industry to
overcome these challenges.

JOOST BEKKER has over 20 years of experience in supply chain management and distribution planning solutions. He is a Master of
Industrial Engineering and Management Science from the Eindhoven University of Technology with a specialisation in Logistics. The
native Dutchman gained international experience both working in operations as well as in consulting. For twelve years he operated as A
to B Consultancy, a logistics consultancy based in the Netherlands, and gained an in-depth understanding of how operations can benefit
from software solutions and how to make that work. Now based in Sydney, he is in charge of business development for PTV Group’s
logistic solutions in the Asia Pacific Region.

4 LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT 2.00pm - 2.30pm

PAPER: Managing supply chain change successfully

KAREN LIVEY, Co-founder and Director of Global Institute of Training and Presenting
Organisations are demanding more of their supply chains. It is being recognised that a well-managed supply chain can save time and
money and build a solid reputation with their customers. However, to meet these demands, supply chains have to be adjusted, processes
changed and systems updated. To introduce these changes, the people at the sharp-end have to make these new modifications happen
and work for the organisation. For many organisations, this can be a slow, painful process with return on investment being lower than
expected as time taken to implement is longer than planned. It is not easy to re-condition people to accept these changes, but using
these techniques, implementation can be much less painful and successful. Effective application of change management can increase
the success rate of a new project to as high as 96%, reducing the risk of failure. This presentation will show how team leaders and
managers can work with their teams to support and commit to the changes.

KAREN LIVEY is passionate about facilitating new team cultures. Through her dynamic teachings and unique outlook on learning, her
clients always leave excited and ready to implement changes leading to long term sustainable transformations. With over two decades
of presenting, facilitating and leading workshops, plus having real-life experiences, Karen’s view of creating opportunities is radically
different. She appreciates how important it is to develop yourself from the inside out and present yourself in a confident, engaging
manner. Karen is sometimes referred to as the “Sassy Lady” for her ability to engage with individuals in a lively and bold way to
bring out the best in people. She is known for her practical, street-smarts style creating a fusion of real-life stories and conversational
techniques that connect with her audience at an individual level. As a Certified Expert Presenter (CEP), an accreditation with the
Global Institute of Training and Presenting, Karen has thrilled her audience through learning how brain science can help them work
smarter. She incorporates this cutting edge knowledge and blends it to formulate simple and practical ways to use it in the workplace.
Relationships are important to Karen, and she believes collaborating with her clients gives the best possible results for everyone to
achieve their expected outcomes. Karen has sat on various National Boards and has been recognised for Outstanding Leadership from
the International Women’s Leadership Association, as well as being a member of Stanford Who’s Who.

4 LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT 2.30pm - 3.00pm

PAPER: Improving Collaboration & Profitability: How a Lack of Organisational Trust Increases Costs and
Decreases Speed
MARIE-CLAIRE ROSS, Chief Corporate Catalyst, Trustologie
In today’s rapidly changing world, leaders with a good grasp of trust – who know how to judge, build and rely on it - have an enormous
competitive advantage. Yet, few business schools teach this valuable skill. Trust is essential. Without it, social groups can’t function
properly. Without trust, you generate a dysfunctional organisation and team.
As a leader, one of your most important tasks is to gain the trust of employees and other departments to come and work with you on a
project. But it’s not easy. A recent study found that around half of employees say they don’t trust their manager. This means employees
won’t commit to the vision and share responsibility for results, which stymies execution and change. This presentation will discuss:

unique set of data and insights from a leading IIoT industrial lighting platform, we will examine actual Australian operating conditions and
equipment degradation, as well as look at design, control and implementation approaches to mitigate the accelerated ageing effects of
heat and system characteristics enabling long term durability.

SAMUEL REDMOND is the Head of Business Development for Greenearth Energy (ASX: GER), a cleantechnology company with
businesses focused on the Industrial Internet of Things and renewable energy. Mr Redmond has 15+ years of technical, commercial and

Smart Site Visits - Friday 31st March
A number of site visits have been organised for SMART Conference Delegates. If you have booked a site visit, you will receive a ticket
upon registration onsite outlining all the details.
If you have not booked a site visit, please see the registration desk to see what is available.
KIMBERLEY CLARK - The site is comprised of 7 Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) cranes operating over 140 meters in
length and 22 meters in height with storage bays up to 4 pallets deep and 9 bays high in the racking system. Along with an automated
Roll on Roll Off (RORO) system for truck unloading, the site holds over 40,000 pallets.
TOSHIBA - The Toshiba NDC is a central distribution centre covering a wide range of spare parts and consumer goods. The Goods to
Person system stores the majority of the spare parts enabling a high service level to customers. You’ll see modular goods to person
system together with zone routing system as well as selective pallet racking, single and double deep storage.
BARANGAROO - is Australia’s premier financial and professional services hub and waterfront retail precinct. When complete, there
will be more than 23,000 office workers daily and up to 90 retailers. This site drives an enormous number of logistics services…within
a very constrained land footprint. This site visit represents a unique opportunity to understand how Barangaroo and its community are
able to manage their logistics without congestion and with full visibility.
TRANSPORT AND LOGISTICS LIVING LAB AT DATA61 (ALEXANDRA) - Serves as the Control Tower of the road network in Sydney,
monitoring all events on the road network 24×7. Participants will get to see how the road sensors collect traffic information, how the
information is processed, stored and used for the planning of future road networks around Sydney. They will also get some insights of
the role the TMC plays in managing events like the Lindt Cafe Siege or the footy match on the weekend.
RELIANCE RAIL MAINTENANCE CENTRE (AUBURN) - Trucks, trains, planes and ships are the work horse of every supply chain
network. They physically move goods from where they are manufactured to where they will be used. The visit will provide participants
a rare view of the maintenance activities of the Waratah Trains. These trains were assembled in Newcastle and maintained in Auburn
by Downer under a turnkey project with Sydney Trains.
