C C C C C C C C: Data Tabulation

This document contains data from an ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry experiment. The absorbance of various sample solutions was measured. For solutions C1 through C5, the absorbance decreased down the table from 1.510 to 0.193 AU. Solutions CA through CC had sodium chloride added, and their absorbance also decreased from 0.837 to 0.809 AU. The decreasing absorbance with concentration indicates the experiment followed the Beer-Lambert law. More trials could provide a more accurate representation of the calibration curve.

Ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry (UV-Vis or UV/Vis) refers to absorption

spectroscopy or reflectance spectroscopy in the ultraviolet-visible spectral region. This
means it uses light in the visible and adjacent ranges. The absorption or reflectance in the
visible range directly affects the perceived colour of the chemicals involved. In this region of
the electromagnetic spectrum, atoms and molecules undergo electronic transitions. For the
reading, sample solution of C1, the absorbance(AU) is 1.510 AU. The second sample solution
of C2, the absorbance is 0.795 AU. The third sample solution of C3, the absorbance is 0.452
AU. Next, the fourth sample solution of C4 is 0.274 AU. The fifth sample of solution is 0.193
AU. For the solution CA, CB and CC, follow the instructions number 5, students must add NaCl
in amount of 1 mg until 5 mg. For CA, after added 1 mg of NaCl, the absorbance become
0.837 AU. After that, the sample solution of CB, the absorbance is 0.812 AU. For the third
solution as CC, the absorbance is 0.809 AU. Based on the data, the absorbance of the
solutions at the different concentrations decrease down of the table. The data from C 1 until
C5 and CA until CC are decreasing down of the data. This result is showing that after added
the NaCl into the same solution that use in the C1 to C5, decrease. The experiment only
called or a single run but using the data collected from other groups one can compare
results & using the-Beer Lambert law and a calibration curve, a graph with several group
data was created and three equations created from this collection or data can be used to
generate the theoretical values or which all groups can compare. One possible may to see
improvements for this set or results as well as the entire class would have been simply to
require many more trials to provide a much more accurate representation of that the curve
actually is.
