Coriolis Effect WS

The Coriolis effect causes moving objects on Earth to deflect to the right in the Northern Hemisphere and to the left in the Southern Hemisphere due to Earth's rotation. It is strongest at higher latitudes and causes winds to circulate in bands around high and low pressure systems. Differences in the Coriolis effect impact flight times between directions and require missiles to be aimed off-target depending on launch location and target latitude.
