to be on medication for a while. She is coping well, though. We had a good time at
my parents’ anniversary party. All the grandchildren came to the party. Nadia is
riding her bike very well. Even though little Eric is only three, he is a good bike rider,
too. Molly is ten now. She writes very well for her age. She gets good marks and
behaves well in the classroom.

Writing in Action
Let’s puts in action the new vocabulary. The paragraph is an indispensable part
of the writing structure. Write a persuasive, expository, process analysis,
descriptive, narrative and expository paragraph base on the following prompts or
you can be creative and write new ones.

A fracture means that there is a break or crack in a bone.
Types of fractures:
Open fracture: Skin above the fracture is broken i.e. one of the broken bone ends
may be sticking out of the skin or there is a wound at the fracture site. Since the
skin is broken, there is a high risk of infection.
Closed fracture: Skin above the fracture is intact.
Stable fracture: The broken bone ends do not move.
Unstable fracture: The broken bone ends can easily move out of position,
resulting in severe damage to the blood vessels, nerves, and organs.

Causes of strains and sprains:

o I - Icing the injured part
o C- Compress the injured part (e.g. ACE wrap)
o E- Elevation of the injured part
If the pain is severe, or the person is unable to use the injured part, arrange
transportation to a medical facility.
