The Philippines is a country with numerous languages; in fact, there are 101 languages
spoken by Filipinos. (Dita, 2012). As stated by the author Philippines is a multi-lingual paradise
which my partner and I agreed on. Because indeed, there are lots of advantages that can be obtained
from knowing many languages. These are the following benefits that my Partner and I agreed on;
(1) It allows us to communicate with different persons, not only in the Philippines but also
across the world. Also, due to Filipinos having different languages it allows them to easily learn
other languages.
(2) Also, it lessens the chances of having a language barrier. Since it is inevitable, we can
only reduce the language barrier.
(3) In terms of Economic development, It gives the Philippine business economic to
increase due to Filipinos knowing different languages; It enables them to interact with potential
business partners speaking other languages around the world, especially the English Language.
This is supported by (British Council, 2013) as English is one of the leading languages that is
considered a convenient means to communicate in the world.
(4) Since Filipinos are known for being good at speaking English. It will be easy for them
to communicate. Knowing different languages enables to open lots of opportunities.
