Elementary School, Calamba City. The said Seminar is thereby supported by our Provincial Governor,

Pregnancy, and Teenage love. The main objectives of this seminar is to be an eye opener for the youth

most especially- youth of the Province of Laguna, also to guide them on the right path that they should be

in.

The program proper started on the discussion of “Smoking Cessation” it is then lectured by Mr.

Mark Anthony Sherwin DIzon. According to him, “smoking cessation is to quit or stop smoking” as we all

know smoking is harmful to us aside from it can cause diseases it also contributes to the pollution to get

even worser. Addiction to smoking can cause cancer and other severe and serious health programs

relating to the lungs, and according to Mr. Dizon the Department of Health (DOH) in partnership with the

Local Government Units (LGU) have provided programs/ways that will help smokers to finally quit smoking.

One way is the Counseling. In counseling, users will be informed of the harmful effects of smoking in our

It is followed by Ms. Renemee Lozano who lectured about “Teenage Pregnancy.” It is one of the

problems that our country is trying to resolve, with its increasing number is also the increasing number of

population and poverty as well. Ms. Lozano said that “one of 10 young Filipino women, ages 15-19 is

already a mother or pregnant with First child, she stressed that must of the women who got pregnant on

their teenage lacks knowledge about family planning and is undergraduate or never been attended school.

Ms. Lozano emphasizes that having a supportive and trustworthy family and friends will help women to

avoid teen pregnancy.

Ms. Elizabeth Zafra after the discussion of Teen Pregnancy, lectured about HIV, where she

discussed the nature of HIV, how it is required and its symptoms. HIV is the appearance of clinical

manifestation of AIDS or Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, in this state, the person presents with

opportunistic infection of unlimited extent and possibilities. This deficiency, according to Ms. Zafra, is also a

viral infection that affects and slowly destroys the immune system of an infected person that leads to

immune deficiency. It is progressive and can lead to lack of body defense to all kinds of infection including

these and that don’t normally infect man and can also lead to cancer susceptibility. Ms. Zafra also satated

that HIV is acquired most often through sexual intercourse, engaging open in sex will most probably higher

about love and the process of dating. She emphasized that dating is an important aspect before entering

any kind of relationship, dating enables couples to get to know more of each other, become aware of the

strength and weaknesses and how are they going to deal with those. Hon. Cha then told the students that

“ang mga kabataang nagmamadali, madalas nagkakamali,” she stressed that it is important to do not rush

Brigada Eskwela

The place designated for LAGABATA to be clean were the stairs in the New Building, from the first floor
to the top floor. We chose to do our task on the second day of Brigada because we think that on the first
day there will be chances that the stairs will be use.
