AVERAGE

1. When a person is added in a group,


i) If average increases
Age of new person = Previous average + (Total no. Of members including new person
x Increase in the average)
ii) If average decreases
Age of new person = Previous average – (Total no. Of members including new
person x Decrease in the average)

2. When a person is replaced by another in a group,


i) If average age is increased
Age of new person = Age of separated person + (total no. of members in group x
Increase in average)
ii) If average age is decreased
Age of new person = Age of separated person – (total no. of members in group x
decrease in average)

3. When a person leaves the group,


i) If average age is increased
Age of person left = Previous average – (Total no. of people excluding that person
x Increase in average)
ii) If average age is decreased
Age of a person left = Previous average + (Total no. of people excluding that
person x Decrease in average
