HERMetic UTImeter Otex The HERMetic UTImeter Otex is a portable liquid level
gauge designed to be operated under open conditions on petroleum and
chemical tanks where open gauging is permitted. The characteristics of the RTD
are stored inside the sensor. The sensor is sending true temperature values to the
electronic box. Therefore changing a sensor or a tape does not require a new
calibration. The unit is used for custody transfer, inventory control measurement
and free water detection on storage tanks. The HERMetic UTImeter Otex is set on
the open gauging hatch. The unit enables 3, optionally 4 measurements in one
single operation: • Ullage • Temperature • Oil-Water interface level • Innage,
Reference height (Visc version).
Technical specifications:
Ullage, interface indication: Audible and Visible selectable signals
Tape length: 15 m/50 ft, 30 m/100 ft, 35 m/115 ft
Tape graduation: Metric/English
Tape resolution: 1 mm / 1/16”
Tape accuracy: ± 1.5 mm/30 m (±1/16”/100 ft approx.) Meets API MPMS Chap 3.1A
and ISO 4512 requirements
Temperature accuracy: ± 0.1°C (0°C to 70°C);
Meets API MPMS Chap 7 request ± 0.2°F (32°F to 158°F)
Meets ISO 4268 , IP PMM Part IV

2. UTI D2401-2 ENCLOSED:-
2. If unit was on and in Ullage/Interface mode, simply press the “Mode” push-button to
select temperature.
3. Make sure “LO BAT” does not show at left upper corner of display. If “LO BAT” appears,
replace battery even though the digital display turns on. The display may continue to operate even
though the battery voltage is below normal. Temperature reading however, may be in error.
4. Ground the assembly, release the turn handle reel lock. Lower the sensing sensor to the
deepest reading desired. Make sure to exert restraining force while lowering.
5. When the desired temperature ullage level is reached, allow the sensor to at this point for at
least two (2) minutes. Then joggle the sensing sensor up and down, approximately 6” above and
below the desired measurement level until the displayed temperature reading settles. Record this
reading. For heavy crude oil products, the joggling procedure is a necessity to insure accurate
readings. The viscous nature and low thermal conductivity properties of these petroleum products,
makes the joggling procedure a necessity to insure accurate temperature in a minimum amount of
time.
6. Raise the sensor to the next ullage level to be measured. Repeat step 6.3.5. Continue
raising sensor to all levels at which readings are desired.
7. When the measurements are complete, push “Off/On” button to turn off and
conserve battery power. Rewind the tape into the carriage reel assembly. Wipe the tape as
it is rewound by placing the spring loaded wiper in the “On” position.
8. Close the vapor valve, disconnect the valve securing cap, remove the gauging unit,
disconnect the grounding cable. Replace the vapor valve cap.
9. Lock the reel by rotation reel lock crank down, position. Follow the same final
procedure as described in step above.
3. HERMetic ENRAF UTI :-
HERMetic UTImeter Gtex The HERMetic UTImeter Gtex is a portable gas tight liquid
level gauge designed for closed gauging of hydrocarbons and chemicals. The unit is
used for custody transfer, inventory control measurement and free water detection
on marine vessels. Connected to a HERMetic vapour control valve fixed on the tank,
the HERMetic UTImeter Gtex avoids any gas release during operation. The unit
enables 3, optionally 4 measurements in one single operation: • Ullage •
Temperature • Oil-Water interface level • Innage, Reference height (Visc version).
Specification:-
Accuracy of ullage-interface detection: ± 2 mm (± 0.08” approx.)
Ullage, interface indication: Audible and Visible selectable
Maximum tank overpressure: 0,3 bar (4,4 psi)
Tape length: 15 m/50 ft, 30 m/100 ft, 35 m/115 ft
Tape graduation: Metric/English
Tape resolution: 1 mm / 1/16”
Tape accuracy: ± 1.5 mm/30 m (±1/16”/100 ft approx.)
