PLATFORM INCLUDES FUNCTIONAL,DB & ETL TESTING.
 I WORKED AS A QA ENGINEER IN JR BETA SOFT Technologies pvt ltd Noida
 I HAVE GOOD EXPERIENCE IN WORKING WITH PROJECTS USING DIFFERENT SDLC
MODELS LIKE WATERFALL,V-MODEL AND AGILE MODEL.
 I have a EXPERTISE IN WRITING SQL QUERIES FOR DATA VALIDATION BETWEEN SOURCE &
TARGET IN AN HETEROGENOUS PLATFORM SYSTEM.
 I ALSO GOOD AT VALIDATING INTIAL & INCREMENTAL DATA LOADS IN THE ETL
PROJECTS and we follow these 2 types of testing in our project.

 Along with this I Have a STRONG KNOWLEDGE IN DWH CONCEPTS

PROJECT :

 COMING TO MY PROJECT MY PROJECT WAS Lowe Retail Stores .Client location is US.
LOWES is a leader in the grocery retailing industry and it has 2500 stores. It is the largest
Company in the retailing industry.

 IT IS A WEB APPLICATION WHICH IS MAINLY USED FOR GENERATING BUSINESS


REPORTS FOR HIGHER MANAGEMENT used in supply chains operations. It has five modules,
HR & Finance, Retail, EDW & Portal, and Marketing &Merchandising.

 The EDW application in Lowe is supported to load the transactional data and aggregated
data from each department (Sources) in a store in to the Enterprise data ware house using
Oracle.

 THESE SOURCES ARE IN DIFFERENT DATA FORMATS LIKE HR & Finance, EDW & Portal
IS IN SQL SERVER DATABASE, Retail IS IN XL FILES AND Marketing & Merchandising
DATA IS IN NOTEPAD(TAB LIMITED).

 OUR ETL PROJECT WILL EXTRACT THE DATA FROM THESE DIFFERENT SOURCES
INTO STAGING AREA AND THEN TRANSFORMS THE DATA TO MEANINGFULL INFO. AS
PER THE BUSINESS RULES/MAPPING DOCUMENT AND THEN LOADS THE
TRANSFORMED DATA TO TARGET DB(Oracle)USING ETL TOOL INFORMATICA
POWER CENTER.

 AS PART OF MY QA VALIDATIONS I WILL BE VERIFYING ALL THE DATA MOVEMENTS


HAPPENED CORRECTLY OR NOT IN ALL THE LAYERS(EXRACT,TRANSFORM &
LOAD)USING SQL QUERIES.
Case1:

Suppose dev team developed etl for flat files and the etl flow is basically have DQM checks
(20-30 DQM check it applied on flow ) basically dev team create a flow to applied DQM
checks.
Initially provide tester a sample records 20-30 records .
What approach you(tester) applied to check it thoroughly or tester need to check dat
Is dev team applied DQM check properly or not?
