(Second Quarter)

I. OBJECTIVES:
 Identify the advanced features of Microsoft PowerPoint,
 Follow steps in adding slide transition,
 Identify the steps in adding animations in Microsoft Powerpoint, and give steps on how to use
Hyperlink into a presentation.

A. CONTENT STANDARD
The learners demonstrate knowledge and skills to create knowledge products.
B. PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The learners should be able to create a multimedia knowledge product.
C. LEARNING COMPETENCIES
The learners should be able to use the advanced features of a slide presentation
tool to create a multimedia presentation with text, graphics, and photos; hyperlinked
elements; animation; and embedded audio and/or video.

IV. PROCEDURES:
A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson
What’s the word?
The teacher will present series of presentation about different topics in each subject. Then, the
pupils will identify the appropriate word to describe the presentation.
Processing Questions:
 Have you tried using those techniques in creating a PowerPoint presentation?
 Is it helpful to you? Why or Why not?

B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson

Compare and contrast


The teacher will present the lesson to the class using a PowerPoint presentation and manila
paper as visual aids. The teacher will let the pupils compare and contrast the two presentations. The
pupils will identify the advantages of using PowerPoint presentation and Manila paper as visual aids.
After, the pupils will choose if which is better and defend their arguments.
C. Presenting examples/instances of the new lesson
The teacher will divide the class into groups depending on the availability of the computers.
Then, each group will be seated together to the activity.
 Open the PowerPoint 2013/2016 on their assigned computers.
 Choose the design of their choice for their presentation.

D. Discussing new concepts


The teacher will discuss about the advanced features of Microsoft PowerPoint that allows the
pupils to have more control over their presentation, from the design stage up to delivery.
 Slide transitions are motion effects that happen during Slide Show when you move from one
slide to the next.
1. Click the slide in the Thumbnail pane that you want to apply a transition to.
2. Click the Transitions tab.
3. In the Transitions gallery, click the More options.
4. Click the transition effect that you want for that slide.
 Animations are motion effects to text, pictures or shapes on the slides.
1. Select the text or object on the slide that you want to animate.
2. Click Animations tab.
3. Click Add Animation in the Advanced Animation group.
4. Select the animation effect. To see more effects, click More Entrance Effects, More
Emphasis Effects, More Exit Effects or More Motion Paths.
 Hyperlink is a word, phrase, or image that you can click on to jump to a new document or a
new section within the current document.
To insert a hyperlink to another file:
1. Right-click the selected text or image, then click Hyperlink. The Insert Hyperlink dialog
box will appear.
2. On the left side of the dialog box, click Existing File or Webpage.
3. Click the drop-down arrow to browse for your file.
4. Select the desired file.
5. Click OK.

E. Continuation of the discussion of new concepts (leads to Formative Assessment 2)


Remember that linking a sound or video file to your presentation means storing them outside the
presentation. The files are not part of the presentation. Hence, the presentation file is smaller than that
of a presentation having an embedded sound or video file. So when you move your presentation file,
make sure to move the sound or video file as well.

F. Developing Mastery (leads to Formative Assessment 3)


PowerPoint Making (Thematic)
 The class will be divided into 12 groups. Each group will be assigned to a certain computer for
them to make their PowerPoint Presentation.
 Each group will be making a PowerPoint Presentation following transition, animation, and
hyperlink.
 They will be given a rubric on how they will be graded.

G. Finding practical applications of concepts and skills in daily living (reflective approach)

Gallery Walk
The pupils will roam around the ICT room to check and look into the PowerPoint Presentation made
by their classmates.
Processing Questions:
 What group made the best PowerPoint Presentation? Why?
 What have you observed in the PowerPoint Presentation of your classmates?
 Do you like their PowerPoint Presentation? Why or Why not?

H. Making generalizations and abstractions about the lesson


Let the pupils make a conclusion about the activity.
I. Evaluating learning
The pupils will answer the formative assessment.
Instruction: Write the letter of the correct answer about the effects of force on objects.
________1. These are motion effects that happen during Slide Show when you move from one slide
to the next.
________2. Examples of this advance feature of Microsoft PowerPoint are cut, fold and wipe.
________3. These are motion effects to text, pictures or shapes on the slides.
________4. It means storing the files in the presentation itself. The files become part of the
presentation file even if you move it, but it will make the presentation file larger.
________5 Examples of this advance feature of Microsoft PowerPoint are appear, fade and float in.
