KeitSen Company- is a restaurant that serves quality and healthy Filipino cuisines which is
prepared in a clean and friendly environment.

What?

Shared vision is building a sense of commitment in a group by developing a shared picture of the
future we seek to create and the ways by which we hope to get there. It is a picture that everyone
in the company carries in their heads and hearts.

KeitSen’s Shared Vision

Korean, Chinese, and French cuisines are the trend in today’s time. So as a Filiino, we want to
bring back the glory days of Filipino dishes and showcase the trait of the Filipinos through the
service that the business provides. This drives the company towards giving quality food and
service. Also since the company has a shared vision, it allows the organization to work and learn
together in harmony. Thus, our shared vision is to increase customer satisfaction and loyalty by
providing excellent service, mouthwatering Filipino cuisines, in a pleasant environment. We
accomplish this through teamwork, communication, honesty, fun and sharing experiences as we
all grow together.

Why?

Shared vision is important because it serves as the purpose or mission of the organization.
Without a purpose, a company cannot set its goals as well as lay-out its plans to achieve that
goal. Moreover, shared vision is important because it changes people’s relationships with the
organization. It is no longer us versus them, upstairs versus downstairs, admin versus frontline or
some other moniker that sows discord and division; instead it becomes our organization, our
department. A shared vision is the necessary step to developing mutual trust and harmony
throughout organizations. The shared sense of purpose, vision and, core values reshape an
organizations culture. “Culture is a longer lasting, more complex set of shared expectations than
climate. While climate is how people feel about their organization right now, culture consists of
the shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterize the larger institution.
Why did KéitSen created a shared vision?

Shared vision is vital to an organization. It serves as a backbone to the entire organization. A

force that keeps the members working towards a goal. A goal wherein they would not aim for
what the organization could do to them but what they can contribute to the organization as a
part of it.

How?

How can we put to work our shared vision?

Engaged Organization Through Shared Vision

1. Creating the Vision

The application of a shared vision is impossible without inclusion. Start by including everyone
within the organization in a discussion about the creation of a shared vision, its testing, and
promotion. Remember, this is not about top level executives imposing their vision onto others.
Instead, every member of the organization will need to align their personal vision into a shared
one.

It is necessary to ask every individual what their personal vision for the organization is. Without
everyone taking the time to create a personal vision, employees can get complacent and simply
agree for agreement’s sake that someone else’s vision is good enough. This result doesn’t create
as lasting and powerful an impact. With a shared vision, everyone has something personal and
important at stake and will work together toward that commonly accepted mission.

2. Aligning Visions

In creating the vision, the first thing is to always listen. Listen to what others must say without
judgement or criticism. This will encourage people to collaborate. Second, make sure that
everyone is clear about their own vision. If everyone is confused as to what end they are aiming
for, everyone else doesn’t stand a better chance. The better employees understand and align with
the shared vision, the higher the chances of their staying on board and being happier to contribute
to the success of the company.

The core ideology of KeitSen is to “bring happiness and satisfaction to many people through their
stomachs and outstanding services.” In achieving this ideology, the company come up with core
value which includes integrity in what they are doing; commitment on what they have started and
to the organization’s shared vision.

A clear vision helps companies run more efficiently because it keeps everyone on the same page.

How did we come up with our vision?

It started with what each want, what each envision personally. Starting from a common
denominator, emerges the visions that leads to shared vision. We look for what will not only benefit
us but what we can do to each of us as well as to the community.

Why visions die?

Visions die when one’s vision surpass the shared vision, when only a vision that comes from one
person drives the organization; leading the member to comply only rather than to commit
himself/herself. A starting point of eroding harmony, from us to me. A self-centered interest that
leads to different path. For example, the purchasing manager wants a higher price alternative raw
materials to ensure quality products while the finance manager tends to choose the lower price
alternative to minimize cost and earn more profit. Another factor is the gap between current reality.
Some may perceive that it is unattainable or impossible to do. Resulting to demotivation of each
member.

To prevent this happening, each should constantly examine himself/herself, and then as an
organization. Each member is leading towards a single shared vision, listening is vital as well as
understanding. It may be time consuming but it is the drive force of an organization; the foundation
of the organization.
