1. Safety Instructions

1.1 General Safety Instructions

Where the instructions below use the term device or terminal, they refer to the JUST
M3000 POS terminal, together with the battery and other electrical accessories
supplied by Justtide.

 Use only the provided AC adapter. There is a risk of explosion and fire and
device damage if other adapters are used.

 Never expose your device to extreme temperatures, for example, by leaving it


under the windshield in a vehicle. There is a risk of explosion and fire.

 Switch off the device immediately if it starts to emit smoke, unusual odors or
noises. If you continue to use the device under such circumstances, there is a risk
of fire and electric shock. Have the device repaired by qualified personnel
service.

 Please note that the paper cutter on the POS terminal is sharp and can cause
injury if handled carelessly.

 Do not place any objects on the device! It could fall and cause injury.

 Only operate your POS terminal with the accessories supplied. The use of other
accessories will lead to malfunctioning.

 Do not use your device in humid environments (bathrooms, swimming pools etc.).
It must be protected against splashes of water and other fluids. Liquids can
penetrate the device through the openings on the casing and cause a short circuit.

 Do not insert any objects that do not meet the specified purpose into the openings
on the casing or the card slots. This will cause damage to the casing or card
reader.

 Protect your POS terminal from dusts. Dust could penetrate your POS terminal
and interfere with its proper functioning.

 When the POS is to be store for some time, only store the POS terminal with a
fully charged battery fitted. Otherwise the power reserves in the battery will be
over-consumed.

 The mobile terminal is not a toy. Please put the smart mobile POS payment

terminal, battery and SIM card out of reach of children to prevent swallowing by
children, causing injury to children or others, or damage to these objects
themselves.

 The machine uses proprietary encryption PSAM card and SIM card supporting
GPRS. Do not try to install the other SIM card to the machine, otherwise the SIM
could be locked or permanent damaged.

 Do not use the POS terminal in gas station, hospital, aircraft, bunker, chemical
plant or blasting operation sites.

 Caution should be taken when operating mobile POS payment terminals near
medical electronic equipment such as pacemakers, hearing aids, etc.

1.2 Warning about the battery

 Use only the supplied charger (P-017B-090400)


 Do not short-circuit the battery
 Do not store above 60 °C (140°F)
 May explode if disposed of in fire
 Do not apply pressure to battery
 Batteries should not be disposed of in general household waste. Observe the local
waste disposal regulations.

1.3 Other important information


Liquid crystal display (LCD) is high-precision technology products. In some cases, it may
show different degrees of screen brightness for environment or different angle of view.
This is a unique property of LCD, not a manufacturing defect.

4. Loading Printer Paper
4.1 Lift up the paper roll compartment locking tab.

4.2 Turn over the paper cover in the direction shown below. Load the paper roll into the
compartment.

4.3 Pull appropriate length of paper out of the paper compartment. Tightly close the
paper cover. Ensure the paper platen pressing on the paper with proper pressure.

Note:
 POS payment terminals use thermal printer. The print head is ultra precision
equipment and is vulnerable to contamination and damage. Therefore, never touch or
scrape the print head by solids, liquids and organic solvents (such as CCL4、CHCL3).
 Use special purpose thermal printing paper only. The paper can only print on the
front side.
 When the printing paper is about to run out, user should replace printing paper timely.
When the printer detects that printing paper is used out, it will stop printing.
 If printer is jammed by paper, user should remove the jammed paper and re-load the
paper.
 When changing printing paper, sealing tape of the printing paper must be torn off.

5. Installing SIM/PSAM Card

5.1 Remove the battery cover and battery from the back. Users can see four slots on
the circuit board. They are marked as SAM1, SAM2, SAM3 and SIM respectively.

5.2 Push the metal cover tab on the card slot backwards, and lift the tab up. (Refer to
the OPEN/LOCK arrows on the metal tabs)

5.3 Insert the SIM/PSAM card onto the slot.

5.4 Lower the cover tab of the card slot. Push forward the tab to lock up the card.

6. Installing and Charging the Battery


Remove the battery cover on the back of the machine. Ensure that the connectors on
the battery align with the connectors on the device, and press the end of the battery
with connectors into the compartment first.

6.1 Fully push the other end of the battery into the compartment.

6.2 Align the two tabs of the battery cover with the two small holes on the
compartment and push the cover down until it clicks in place.

6.3 If the battery runs low and needs to be recharged, the battery indicator LED below the
keyboard shows a flashing red light. In such case, connect the power adapter to the POS
terminal. The LED indicator then shows constant red light to indicate that the battery is
being charged. Wait for 3-4 hours until the battery is fully charged.

When the battery is fully charged, the LED battery indicator turns green.

8. Turning On/Off the POS Terminal

8.1 Start-up
To turn on the machine, connect the power adapter to the terminal’s DC-IN port, or put
the lithium battery into POS terminal (refer to Section 6, Installing and Charging the
Battery) , and press the red ON/OFF button for about five seconds. Then the terminal
beeps and shows the system menu, indicating a successful power-up.

8.2 Shutdown

Press the red ON/Off button for about five seconds. The terminal makes a long beep and
power off.

Note: Do not unplug the power cord or remove the battery before turning off the power.

9. Swiping Magnetic Cards


9.1 When prompted by the screen to swipe a magnetic card, align the card with the
magnetic card slot’s intake, keeping the magnetic stripe facing inward. Refer to
Figure 15 below.

9.2 Draw the card through the length of the slot and complete the swiping process.

10. Reading/Writing Contact IC Cards


10.1 When prompted by the screen to insert an IC card, align the card with the IC card
slot’s intake, keeping the side with IC contact pads facing downward. Refer to Figure
17 below.

10.2 Fully insert the IC card into the slot, as shown in Figure 18.

11. Reading/Writing Contactless IC Cards


When prompted by the screen for contactless IC card, put the card horizontally over
the screen. The terminal makes a beep to indicate successful transaction.

12. Warranty & Service
This device is under warranty of one year from the date of purchse. Please have your proof of
purchase ready, and note the S/N on the back cover of the device when contacting Justtide with
call or email with regard to guarantee/warranty claims.

Notes:
 Only use genuine accessories with your skeye.pos mobile. Failure to comply with
this regulation will invalidate the warranty.
 Never attempt to open your mobile POS and/or carry out repairs and/or
modifications yourself. The manufacturer accepts no liability for any damage that
may be incurred as a result.
 Any interference by unauthorized persons will invalidate the warranty.
 Damage caused by improper packaging of the mobile POS during shipping and/or
unauthorized interference will invalidate the warranty.
