About Company:
The International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) is an American multinational information
technology company headquartered in Armonk, New York, with operations in over 177
countries. The company began in 1911, following the merger of four companies founded
in Endicott, New York as the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company (CTR) by Charles
Ranlett Flint and was renamed "International Business Machines" in 1924 by Thomas J. Watson.
IBM is incorporated in New York.
IBM makes and sells software, computer hardware, infrastructure services, and consulting
services. IBM is one of the biggest Information Technology companies in the world.. IBM is
headquartered in Armonk, New York. IBM India Private Limited is the Indian subsidiary of IBM,
which is headquartered at Bengaluru, Karnataka.

History:
Firstly IBM made machines, such as typewriters. During World War II, IBM made guns for
the American army. During the 1960s and 1970s IBM dominated the mainframe
computer market. On April 7, 1964, IBM announced the first computer system family,
the IBM System/360. It was followed by the IBM System/370 in 1970. From the 1980s
starting in 1981 until 2005, IBM made personal computers. In 2005, IBM sold their
personal computer manufacturing to a Chinese company called Lenovo. Today, IBM
mostly makes software, and some powerful supercomputers.

IBM’s vision is to be the world’s most successful and important Information Technology
Company and helping out customers to solve their problems.IBM’s mission is to lead in
the creation, development, and manufacture of the industry’s most advanced information
technologies, including computer systems, software, networking systems, storage
devices, and microelectronics.
Leadership:
IBM, an American multinational technology and consulting firm headquartered
in Armonk, New York founded by Charles Ranlett Flint. CEOs are Thomas J. Watson
,Thomas J. Watson, Jr. etc. and present CEO is Virginia M. Rometty.

Clients:
IBM have a partnership with wide variety of customers and you can't specifically choose
some of them and just say that is our the biggest customer. It just doesn't work with such
a big company. IBM has huge chain of customers and consumers all around the world.As
per IBM internal source the top 10 valuable customers are Microsoft, HP, Cisco, Dell,
Oracle, Intel, Google, VMWare, Toshiba, Nortel.

Products and services:


IBM has a large and diverse portfolio of products and services. As of 2016, these offerings
fall into the categories of cloud computing, Artificial intelligence, commerce, data and
analytics, Internet of Things , IT infrastructure, mobile, and security. IBM also owns The
Weather Company, which provides weather forecasting and includes weather.com and
Weather Underground.[85]

IBM's service units include Global Business Services, which houses Big Blue's
management consulting operations, and Global Technology Services, which provides
mobility, networking, business continuity and outsourcing, among other services. Like
other large IT services providers, in recent years, IBM has moved to purchase companies
offering cloud consulting and implementation services.
