The document provides an overview of a proposed point-of-sale (POS) system with inventory management for a milk tea shop called Let's Catch Up. The system is being developed by students at the City of Malabon University to improve the shop's business operations. Currently, the shop uses manual processes for transactions, inventory tracking, and sales reporting. The proposed POS system aims to computerize these processes for improved efficiency. It will allow for electronic recording of customer orders and inventory levels, and generation of sales reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis. The POS system is expected to benefit the shop owners, customers, and future students through improved services and skills development.

Chapter 1

Introduction

Milk tea, and its family of bubble teas, has been around for decades in various forms. The
most popular style of milk tea originated in Taiwan back in the 1980s and is a simple blend of
black tea, creamer and sugar. Since then, however, this once simple drink has turned into a
revolutionary tea canvas that has allowed tea lovers to pair their favorite teas with a myriad of
creamers, flavors and sweeteners. But that is not even the best part. It’s also incredibly popular
and provides phenomenal profit margins for tea retailers.

Technology innovates every year. Humans use technology to travel, to communicate, to

learn, to do business and to live in comfort. However, technology has also caused us concerns.
Technology impacts the environment, people and the society as a whole. It is an advantage for
business owners. Most milk tea shops still use manual method of taking transactions, monitoring
stocks and producing sales report which took a lot of time and lessen the efficiency of the
business operations. Our client still manually taking orders by paper, counting and producing
sales reports. The advantage of inventory system, it will minimize time consumed on making
transaction from customers, monitoring and generating sales report which increases the
efficiency of the business operation.

We the students of CMU will develop POS with Inventory System which provide computerized
process that benefits the shop’s business. This will improve efficiency on taking orders from
customers with its user-friendly interface. Transactions are saved to database and can viewed
anytime. It can also generate sales report that can be set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. We
propose this system because it is necessarily needed by our client and it will greatly affect the
business service.
