Linear Arrangement – Class - 2

SET-1

Eight friends G, H, I, J, K, L, M and N are sitting in a straight line facing north. All of them likes a different colors, viz
Orange, Red, Pink, Green, Brown, Blue, Black and Yellow, but not necessarily in the same order.

The one who likes Yellow sits third to the right of M. I is on the immediate left of M. The person who likes Pink sits
second to the left of I. H sits second to the right of N, who likes neither Yellow nor Pink. Only two persons sit between K
and the one who likes Red. G and L are immediate neighbours and both of them do not like Yellow. The person who likes
Orange sits second to the right of G. There are two persons between J and the one who likes Red. J does not like Yellow.
The one who likes Blue is an immediate neighbour of the one who likes Yellow. The one who likes Brown sits second to
the left of G. One of the immediate neighbours of M likes Black. J sits on an extreme end of the line.

Eight males Azi, Ben, Cob, Dev, Emo, Fed, Gil, and Ham are sitting in a row facing north but not necessary in the same
order. They resembling different branded shirts like Van Heusen, Park Avenue, Peter England, Louis Philippe, Raymond,
Parx, Arrow and Allen Solly but not necessary in the same order.

No two successive males are sitting together according to alphabetical order. For instance- Azi does not sit with Ben;
similarly, Ben does not sit with Cob and so on.

Either Dev or Ben sits at the extreme end of the row. Azi likes Allen Solly and sits second from the left end of the row.
Dev sits third to left of one who likes Arrow. Ben sits third to left of Gil, who likes Parx. Gil does not sit the extreme end
of the line. The one who likes Raymond sits second to left of Fed. Emo does not sit any of the extreme end of the line.
One of the immediate neighbors of Ben likes Louis Philippe. Fed does not like Louis Philippe. The one who likes Peter
England sits second to right of one who likes Van Heusen. Ben sits fourth from the left end. Cob likes Peter England.

Eight persons from different cities, viz. Jaipur, Delhi, Goa, Kolkata, Indore, Jodhpur, Mumbai and Bangalore ,are sitting in
two parallel rows containing four persons each, in such a way that there is an equal distance between adjacent persons.
In row 1, T, U, V and W are sitting and all of them are facing north. In row 2, P, Q, R and S are sitting and all of them are
facing south. Therefore, in the given seating arrangement each member sitting in a row faces another member of the
other row. (All the information given above does not necessarily represent the order of seating as in the final
arrangement.)

• The person from Indore faces the one who is on the immediate left of V. V is neither from Delhi nor from Goa.

• An immediate neighbour of P faces the person from Jaipur. The person from Jodhpur faces the person who is on the
left of the person from Delhi.

• There is only one person sitting between the persons from Delhi and Mumbai but that person is not T. The persons
from Delhi and Goa are not sitting at the extreme ends.

• Q sits on the immediate left of the person from Indore. Persons from Kolkata and Jodhpur are immediate neighbours.
R and U are not sitting at any of the ends.

• W faces the one who is sitting on the immediate right of the person from Jodhpur. P is not from Jodhpur or Kolkata.
