St Mary’s 3rd Annual Gala

Welcome

Dear Honoured Guests,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to the third annual

St. Mary’s Food Bank Gala. We are grateful for your support and for
your presence here tonight. We are delighted to have you at what
we know will be an enjoyable evening.

Around this time last year, we were gathered at this same place for
the same cause. We believe that no one in our community should
be left hungry because they cannot afford to buy necessary food
supplies. It is with your continued support that we believe that
this goal is attainable. We stand here today with even greater
goals and dreams, and greater faith in you.

Today, the food bank is able to meet the basic needs of over 7,000
individuals each year in over six postal codes. This event alone will
bring us one step closer to opening a new location....

There are numerous ways to help, including volunteering at the

Food Bank, making a financial contribution, and donating food
items. And most importantly, being passionate about the problem
by spreading the word to others, empowering them to contribute
towards making hunger a problem of the past.

Tonight, to celebrate your generousity and your compassion for

others in or community, please enjoy your evening.

Kindest regards,
The Art to Dine for Gala Committee.

C H R I S TO P H E R F E R R E I R A
From the first moment he stepped in front of a camera,
Christopher Ferreira has had a great passion for Television.

While growing up, he knew that hosting was in his

destiny. It wasn’t long before he pursued Broadcasting
& Print at Humber College. There, he reported, anchored,
produced and directed Humber TV News, and went on to
the evening edition of Radio Humber News, producing his
own weekly segment for the station.

During his last year of high school,

Christopher joined the RogersTV team as
a producer’s assistant. Since then he has
interned at CHUM, TIFF & CTV; acting as
chase producer, producer’s assistant and
interviewer.

Sports, politics and entertain-

ment are topics in which
Christopher takes an interest, so
it was no surprise that he went

on to become host of Everything
but Hockey and anchored for
First Local Sports. Today, he is the
co-host of Daytime on RogersTV;
grateful for his accomplishments
during his journey.

Through exploring the boundaries between

the real and the imaginary, Aleks Bartosik
investigates one’s ability and willingness to
imagine, pretend, dream and suspend disbelief.
She is interested in our repressed fears and the
sense of wonder engendered through curiosity
and dream.

“ It is my challenge to invite the viewer to dream through my deliberate

narration and my obsession with drawing in painting and installation.
