COMPANY PROFILE

HISTORY OF MAHINDRA AND MAHINDRA AUTOMOTIVE

Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M) was established in 1945 as Mahindra and Mohammed.
Later, after the partition of India, one of the partners – Ghulam Mohammed – returned to
Pakistan, where he became Finance minister. As a result, the company was renamed to
Mahindra and Mahindra in 1948.

M&M started its operations as a manufacturer of general- purpose utility vehicles. It


assembled CKD jeeps in1949. Over the passing years, the company expanded its business
and started manufacturing light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and agricultural tractors.

Apart from agricultural tractors and LCVs, Mahindra and Mahindra also showed its power
in manufacturing army vehicles. soon, it started its operations abroad, through its plants set
up in china, the United Kingdom and the USA.

M&M partnered with companies prominent in the international market, including Renault
SA, International Truck and Engine Corporation, USA, in order to mark its global
presence. M&M also started exploring its products to several countries across the world,
Subsequently, it set up its branches including Mahindra Europe Sri (based on Italy)
Mahindra south Africa and Mahindra (china) Tractor Co Ltd.

At the same time, M&M managed to be in the largest manufacturer of tractors in India, by
hooking leadership in the market of the country, around 25 years. The company is an old
hand in designing, developing, manufacturing as well as farm implements. It made its entry
to the passenger car segment in India, with the manufacture of Logan (mid- size sedan) in
April 2007, under the Mahindra Renault collaboration.

Soon after the considerable success of Logan, M&M started launching a wide range of
LCVs and three wheelers as well as SUVs including Scorpio and Bolero. In the present
time Bolero has gained immense popularity in India. It is one of the most opted vehicles in
its.

Bannerghatta Road, Commercial Vehicle Dealership in K R Puram on Old Madras Road. The
company has got a exclusive state of the art service centre for XUV and Scorpio vehicles and
Body Shop in Bannerghatta Road and second service centre for personal range in Hulimavu, A
state of the art service centre facility has been provided for the commercial vehicles in Avalahalli
on old madras road.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The Study has been undertaken to analyze the customer satisfaction towards all variant of
Anant cars in Bangalore with a special reference to the M&M motors, the other objectives
are:

 To gather information about customer satisfaction towards Anant cars in the


geographic region of Bangalore.
 To know the customer perception about features, low maintenance cost and look of
Mahindra and Mahindra motors.
 To know the customers satisfaction about the safety and comfortability of the
vehicle
 To provide suggestions, in improving the customers satisfaction and the company
sales and profitability.
 To know the customers feedback towards the after sales service offers by Anant
cars.

Learning objectives:
 In the beginning of our training we give our personal introduction and know about the
background of Anant cars.
 We get knowledge of Anant cars (M&M) products currently in the market.
 We get knowledge about the required documents for buying a car.
 What all we should be know or remember at the time of buying a car.
 We learn how to give demo to clients.
WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF INTERNSHIP ACTIVITIES
FIRST WEEK

 Introduction about the company and the staff members working there.
 Overall view of the company and introduction about different departments named:
 Body shop
 Painting shop
 Service shop
 washing
 I was asked to register appointments in register book vehicle number, vehicle model, date
and time of entry to showroom.
 They explained me about their cycle of operations and had to look after it:
 Entry from the gate to workshop gallery.
 The mechanic asks the problem from the owner.
 Issue of service card.
 Inspection by mechanic.
 The mechanic makes a list of required accessories.
 The service engineer inspects the problem and suggest changes.
 Accessories and oils are collected from inventory.
 The service is started in guidance of service advisor.
 Test drive is done to check the vehicle condition
 The vehicle is washed in the washing shop with pressured water using paint friendly
reagents to give shine.
 All the bills are cleared, and gate pass is given.
 Execution of home visits to the customer address along with sales executive. Greeting and
congratulating the customers at the delivery area.
