Production
According to a Global Digital’s Report (2019), it is revealed that internet users are growing
by an average of more than a million new users every day. Totaling to a staggering 4.4 billion
internet users and with the average amount of time they spend online each day amounting to 6
hours and 42 minutes. So what does this mean for companies who want to penetrate the digital
marketplace?
With internet usage encompassing a global scale, this brought forth an increasingly large
population of tech and web-savvy consumers, creating a great opportunity for businesses and their
end customers. The past decade has seen a huge shift in e-commerce, from basic communication
and transaction between buyer and seller, to an end-to-end collaboration medium between all
stakeholders. This collaboration is driven by businesses looking to increase their profits by offering
online products, as well as end-customers seeking a personalized online experience that many
online shops offer.
Manufacturers and business owners can build direct relationships with their customers and
their changing demands. Manufacturers are able to increase their profits and cut back on costs by
adopting a B2B business model. Instead of having employees to manually file through and sort
incoming orders, they’ll be able to automate the process by offering self-service options such as
automatic restocks and notifications when inventory is low. This makes order fulfillment seamless
as well as adding a rich customer service experience, by allowing them to place orders and track
the status of their orders.

II. Human Resources

Human Resources, as defined by William R. Tracey, are those who are responsible for
managing the people inside the organization (Heathfield, 2019). Therefore, they conduct
screening, recruiting, and training job applicants for either small or big organizations and firms.
Having an HR department is a must in any type of business, and in order to catch up with the fast-
changing environment, there is a need to make use of certain advancements such as technology.
According to Ramey (2012), the use of technology has recently been very helpful in all HR
practices beginning from recruitment until the retirement process. The use of the Internet makes it
easier to communicate with the employees, storing files, as well as monitoring and analyzing the
performance of each of the employees. In most countries including the Philippines, websites such
as LinkedIn, JobStreet, and even Facebook, are used by employers to find people who are best
suited for certain jobs. This is done by posting vacancies and its qualifications needed for that
specific job. After that, those who seek the job may also apply for the position online.
In analyzing employee performance, certain tasks such as gathering data about each
employee could be tedious especially if there are more than a hundred employees. Through the use
of technology and the internet, gathering as well as interpreting data would be much easier
especially if done right. There are various software programs available nowadays that could be
used in minimizing the work for varying tasks like attendance and task checking, which are called
computerized performance monitoring or CPM, Google Sheets, MS Excel, and many more.
Lastly, there are also some jobs that are now offered which do not require you to leave
home as it can be done online. Through the internet, many businesses and organizations are able
to hire people from other places all over the globe. This is mostly done by telecommunication and
service providers as this job only requires you to have an internet connection at home to be able to
do the tasks. By doing so, these firms are able to save money and time while increasing their return
on investment.

III. Marketing
American Marketing Association defines Marketing to be the set of activities and processes
undertaken by the company to create, communicate, and exchange offerings that have value for
the consumers. Identifying and studying the behavior of the company’s target market is also
considered to be an important step in marketing the company’s offered goods and services.
However, with the consumer behavior constantly changing, it will be a bit challenging for
businesses to remain relevant unless they keep up accordingly with the changes occuring in their
market- and today, making use of the Internet is one of the best ways in order to remain relevant
with the market. In addition, with the process of E-Commerce continuously growing, it has now
become critical for the companies to recognize and make the most out of the numerous advantages
that the Internet brings.
According to Linton (2019), these are a few of the important uses of the Internet in the area
of Marketing. First, companies use the Internet in order to make their products accessible for their
consumers at any place and time. Posting their products online makes it easier for consumers to
browse for their preferred products and conveniently place their orders. Next, reaching out to a
wider target market is also made possible through the use of the internet, since overcoming barriers
of distance is now untroublesome. Selling goods in various countries are now manageable since
setting up a local outlet is not necessary anymore. Furthermore, using the internet for constant
marketing is very much cost-effective. Marketing online means that there will be no property rental
and maintenance fees to pay. In addition, using the internet could also lead a company to its growth
and success. The internet increases the visibility of the business, and with over 4.33 billion
individuals accessing the internet on a daily basis, a large number of consumers may give the
company a good return on the money invested in the business. Moreover, the ability to multitask
or to handle millions of customers at the same time is considered to also be one of the core benefits
that the Internet brings. With digital marketing, the company’s website will still be able to function
well and provide quality service to each customer despite having a large number of transactions
occurring at the same time. Lastly, through the use of the internet or digital marketing, tracking
the results of the established online campaigns can now be done in a smooth process. By utilizing
various analytical tools, it will now be easier for the company to track the effectiveness of its
marketing campaigns, as well as measure the company’s progress. With these analytics, managers
will be able to gain more insights on the effectiveness of the campaigns that they created and it
may also provide them with various solutions and tips regarding the improvement of the business.

IV. Finance
Internet is one of the fast-growing industries right now, users grew rapidly over time due
to the change and advancement of technology. Different businesses are catching up with the
technological advancement by incorporating some departments needed in the company to the
internet to reduce cost and more accessible to their stakeholders such as using human resources,
marketing, supporting services, finance and etc.
According to Kagan (2019), Financial Technology also known as fintech is a consumer-
oriented service that aims to provide financial services by improving the software and new
technology. This is utilized by helping organizations or companies, business owners and
consumers to improve and manage their financial operations and processes that are used on
computers and smartphones. Fintech consist of different industries such as education, fundraising,
retail banking, and investment management. It is expected to topple traditional banking, forcing
banks to change and elevate their systems.
With this, one of the industries that is concerned with finance is the banking industry, they
are able to catch up by providing their customers with the trend of online transactions or online
banking (Essays, 2018). With the online transactions available to the users, they can financially
transact or pay through different platforms such as internet banking, gcash, paymaya, apple pay,
alipay, we pay and other cashless or E-payment systems available. Paying through these mobile
applications or online bank applications makes it easier for consumers to pay their purchases since
they do not need to go to a bank or establishments just to pay. These different kinds of financial
transactions is an exchange of money with the use of the internet, makes it more available to
everyone. This method is just one click away that both sellers and buyers can monitor how much
they are spending and can quickly send information regarding the payment of the customers.
However, this platform also has a downfall, one of which is the security of the users from being
hacked and get access from one's account. Security issues are the major issues of online banking
but consumers will be more inclined towards internet banking when they experience good service
quality and protected transactions.

V. Supporting Services
In terms of supporting services, the Internet is very essential as businesses nowadays rely
on the internet to stay in touch with their customers to provide support. Building a relationship
with the customers contributes to the business success. Connecting to the Internet helps in
establishing a strong customer network. Internet-based communication helps businesses to
communicate with customers more effectively in order to get new customers and retain their old
customers. Examples of Internet-based supporting services are websites, social media, technical
support.
According to Sharma (2019), the website, Social Media Marketing, Administrative
Support, Technical Support are few examples which are used by almost all the businesses today.
24/7 customer support on social media is another example of effective business communication
and relationship building programs that helps increasing the brand values. Internet is accessible
anytime. Businesses nowadays utilize internet to connect with their customers in order to provide
after-sale service. In case of a customers encountering a problem with a product or service provided
by a business, businesses may easily provide support to their customers through the Internet.
According to Hamel (2017), the author stated that communication using the Internet is one
of the primary uses of the Internet in business. Businesses are able to communicate and interact
with customers via email or instant messaging. This is because communicating thru email allows
workers to communicate quickly with one another. Compare with phone conversations, emails can
contain hundreds of pages of documents and data relevant to business communication. Using email
to communicate data can save on the costs of printing and sending physical papers. Businesses can
also conduct meetings over the Internet using video conferencing software, which can potentially
save on the cost of business travel.
Many businesses nowadays use the Internet to generate sales. Some businesses often have
online sales systems that allows customers to browse products and place orders by entering
payment information. This is because online shopping is convenient for both businesses and
customers. Customers can shop at any time from anywhere, without having to visit a specific retail
location. According to Hamel (2017), businesses use the Internet to interact with customers. For
example, some companies have social media pages such as Facebook and Twitter, where they can
post news and information to keep customers informed about the company's activities. The Internet
also allows companies to get feedback from customers via email submissions or web-based
surveys. Companies can even use the Internet to recruit employees, either through an official
website or by posting job openings on Jobstreet, etc. Some big businesses even conduct effective
research by searching on the web or by using the online resources that they have. An electronic
record can then made of the information gathered. This helps businesses to understand their
customers better.
