Introduction
Netflix is a US based the world’s leading internet entertainment service with over 139 million
paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, documentaries and feature films
across a wide variety of genres and languages. They are the pioneers of the internet delivery
system and they have launched their streaming service since 2007. Developing an ecosystem
for its users where they can enjoy watching TV series, movies, documentaries, shows,
directly through internet connected screens. As a result of these efforts users are accepting
this technology. The core strategy is to increase the number of members for the streaming
facility. The company is currently focusing on bringing new and fresh content for the
streaming service. They are continuously enhancing the user interface and extending the
streaming service to more internet connected screens. The business of Netflix is divided into
three segments domestic streaming, international streaming and they compete against
entertainment video providers and content producers in obtaining content for our service,
both for licensed streaming content and for original content projects. It is changing the trend
in the entertainment industry by bringing new and fresh content for its users. The users can
watch independent films and series at just a click of the fingers. Their main focus is on good
content and they have been providing with good content lately. As of December 31, 2018, we
had approximately 7,100 full-time employees, of which approximately 6,900 supported our
streaming segments. Below stated are the reasons why would I love to work in netflix.

Social value

The culture of Netflix is all about people over process. It is built on tight knit, performance
driven teams with a strong sense of ownership and loyalty. It encourages independent
decision making in employees, share information openly, broadly, and deliberately are
extraordinarily candid with each other keep only our highly effective people and avoid rule.
There are unique practise in Netflix one of them is sun shining which encourages employees
to share their mistake with their colleagues which promotes transparency.

Interest value

Netflix makes work much more fun by following practices there are no rules in the
organisation as such. They don’t measure how many hours an employee works in the
organisation they care about the accomplishment of work. Even if you don’t work for long
hours in the organisation and accomplish your task on time you will be rewarded with greater
responsibility.
Application value

Netflix encourages its employees to take independent decisions they can do what they feel
like its best for the company. Netflix policies for entertainment, expenses, gifts and travel act
in Netflix’s best interest. It hires the best employees for the organisation and gives them the
liberty to take decisions what is best for the organisation. And it also inculcates sense of
ownership within the employees.

Development value

Netflix gives rewards to the employees who brings value to the organisation and are
successful in completion of their tasks. Hard work is not acknowledged over here until and
unless you are successful in accomplishing your work. Feedbacks are provided on a continual
basis which helps them to do their job better. It fosters collaboration, embrace a diversity of
viewpoints, support information sharing, and discourage politics. The goal is to inspire
people more than manage them.

Economic value

Netflix pay its employee at the top of their personal market they hire the best talent and they
retain them through paying higher than their competitors. It doesn’t want its employees to be
dissatisfied because of the pay and they also reward the employees if they accomplish their
task. The employees can take vacation whenever they intend to they can relax a bit and then
come back with fresh ideas.

Management value

Netflix is that organisation which will do anything that is best for the organisation if a person
who is looking for stability in the organisation Netflix is not a right place for them. There is a
keeper test in this test if a manager doesn’t fight to retain the employee in the organisation. It
has to leave the organisation with the severance package. It follows transparency policy
which helps them to take decisions. There are no compensation handcuffs the employee can
choose whenever he wants to without any loss of pay. Organisation wants managers to create
conditions where people love being here, for the great work and great pay. And also people
from diverse cultures come together and do what is the best for the company.
Training and development

Initially Netflix provides training to its new employees so that they all are on the same
ground and provides information regarding the company so that they can decisions
accordingly. Providing feedbacks on a continual basis helps them to know where they are
actually standing. When the organization finds their skills are not valuable you are no longer
required to serve for the organization you are given a severance which will help you to find
some other job.

Work life balance

The employees can take a break whenever they intend to come back with some fresh ideas.
There are no such rules regarding how many hours in a week or no such limit regarding how
may weeks an employee can go for a vacation. And there are times when employees mix
work and personal quite a bit by doing email at odd-hours.

Corporate social responsibility

Netflix offers 52 weeks of paid parental leave which can be taken anytime whether it is
during child’s birth or another time that suits according to their needs. In addition it is also
recycling its old DVDS and donating them to libraries and to service that provides DVDS.
There are looking for ways which reduces their impact on the environment by using as little
electricity as possible (their servers can support 200% bandwidth per watt as they were two
years ago), using renewable energy in some locations where it is possible wind and solar
energy.

Other initiatives

Netflix trust its employee and ensures and encourages that they face no problem while
working for the organisation. The only rule is that there is no rule the employees are provided
information about everything this is the kind of transparency that the organisation follows.
The meetings that they conduct help them to learn from each other rather than to prevent
errors or approve decisions. The whole organisation works as a team and achieve their goals.
