Appendix).
2. Use for classes at accredited institutions
You may use this software in teaching classes at an accredited degree-granting institution, subject to the following

3. Use for research projects
You may use the Duckietown Platform in a research project, provided that:

connected to a commercial enterprise without written authorization of the Duckietown Foundation.
If you would like to use this software in a commercial endeavor, you must contact us at [email protected] to
arrange a licensing agreement. The revenue from these licensing agreements will go to the Duckietown Foundation in
order to provide technical improvements, technical support, and to further disseminate the Duckietown Platform.
5. Contributions
We welcome patches and are happy to incorporate them. We ask you that you assign the copyright to us, so that we
may release all software with the same license (this license) and it is easy for us to enforce the guidelines above.
Appendix - Media Compliance Rule for producing videos and other media
You are welcome to produce and distribute photos and videos of your Duckiebots doing awesome stuff, provided
that:
a) proper attribution to the Duckietown Project is given in the photos and videos;
b) the robots and the Duckietown Environment pictured are compliant with the Duckietown specifications as
seen in the official appearance specifications.
What we want to avoid is that pictures of non-compliant robots or environments make life difficult for others, as they
might try to copy a wrong appearance.
In particular, note that a compliant Duckiebot has a duckie on top; and a compliant Duckietown Environment has a
minimum density of 3 duckies per square meter. Therefore, it is absolutely forbidden to post videos of Duckiebots
and Duckietown Environments without duckies. We are happy to provide the duckies free of charge.
