To introduce basic concepts of industrial engineering, basic management functions with special emphasis on tools for productivity

Guidelines for writing term paper

The term paper can be written in following format

Title of the study

Introduction

Literature review

Proposed Methodology

Result & discussion

Conclusion

References (APA style of formatting should be used)

Note: The students are advised not to copy from each other. Each term paper should be unique in nature.

The students are encouraged to develop new codes /algorithms in commercially available packages (Lingo, GAMS, AMPL) for
solving production and service related problems. The student may also write the case study as a term paper.

The term paper will be judged by following dimensions like innovativeness of the study or topic; proposed approach; Similarity Index
and writing style.

The final term paper should be submitted in MS word format having 1.5 spacing and 12 font size. The student should write minimum
20 pages write-up excluding references, title page and index.

The term paper should be written on the basis of journal papers published in the last five years i.e. (2014 - 2019). The topic should be
related to industrial engineering and management.

Important Dates: The final topic of the term paper should be submitted latest by 15th August 2019 and the final write-up should be
submitted on or before 4th November 2019.

Note: For late submission, 5 marks shall be deducted in each day from the total 20 marks after last submission date. For not
submitting the term paper whole marks may be deducted.

General instructions for students

For creating unnecessary disturbances in the class, talking in the class, giving proxy for other students, an attendance may be
deducted and the same may be updated in the MIS. Students are advised to visit library for the course.
