Siemens Firmware Update

Location: Marmul – DWD – New 33kV GIS – SIEMENS – Panel – L4

Old Parameter set: 04.74.05 New Parameter Set: 04.77.03

STEPS:

1. Download Digsi Device driver from Siemens website and install in PC


 7SJ80x_V047703_GerTreiDig0492_V01.00.00.exe
2. Download Firmware update from Siemens website and install in PC
 Setup_7SJ80x_04.77.03.EXE
3. Connect to Device & download settings via Plug & Play.
 Use selection USB instead of Direct during connection
4. Proceeded without Parameter set update as recommended in the manual
 If the firmware update changes the designation of the version only by the second number
behind the decimal point, (e.g. from V4.02 to V4.03), then the existing parameter set
does not need to be updated (for exception's see appendix table 1). In this case you may
skip this chapter from now on and reload the stored parameter set into the device after
the firmware update using DIGSI.
5. No need to open DIGSI for firmware update.
6. Start the Firmware update ICON created on the Desktop during Step 2.
7. Started update but error pops up, “COM1 NOT OPEN”
 In the same update window select PREFERENCE, select available ports COM5, COM6 etc
8. Updated in <3 minutes.
9. Confirmed communicating with default variant created during step.3
10. Insert new device with MLFB version in DISI and tried communicating.
 No communication
11. Found the device VD address in the MLFB version is different from default. Changed the MLFB
version VD address with the default address.
12. Started communication with relay via DIGSI but ended with error
 Unable to combine settings
 Internal fault
 Unable to continue device processing
13. Under Object properties, found the following,
 New MLFB version – Parameter set: V4.77.03
 Old Default version – Parameter set: V4.74.05
14. Keep a second copy of default variant.
15. With copy of default variant, right click and select “update parameter set”
 This updates the parameter set in DIGSI and not in device
16. From Default variant with updated parameter set connect by “DiGSI to DEVICE”
 After succesfull communication the Device P.SET is updated to new Version.
17. Now start communication with device again via created MLFB variant.
 Device to PC
 Finally successful
18. But still the DEVICE CONFIGURATION is in Disabled mode.
 But found enabled in offline mode, do changes in offline mode & send to relay.
19. FINISH.
