EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

As a part academic requirement MBA program, I have been assigned to


complete summer project report on “Recruitment and selection process of M-tech
innovation Pvt. Ltd. Kelawade” under the guidance of Mr. Aabhijit Gavle. & Miss
swati kansare.

“Recruitment and selection process” is a segement of human resource


process. I have tried my best to go through their Recruitment and selection process
within little tenure of 2 month.

The report starts with a general introduction “m-tech innovation Pvt. Ltd.” As
well as its purpose, scope and limitation. Then this report proceeds onto talk about
“m-tech innovation Pvt. ltd.”

After that I continue on to the main focus of the report “M-tech innovation
Recruitment and selection process” describing the different steps of it. The first
part is manpower requisition and each department given requisition according to
its HR planning to HR department. After getting approval from the HOD, notice is
given internally within the organization or in external media like naukri.com.

Following steps are arranging written exam, talking one or more interviews,
and finally the media checkup. A detail elaboration of selection of best candidate
has been added in the project part and the contribution of HR department for
selecting the most eligible employees for M-tech innovation has been highlighted.
After competent and active part in recruitment and selection process takes a
company to the peak of the success.

INTRODUTION
The project is on recruitment & selection process in “M-tech innovation Pvt.
Ltd.” The significance of the project is to fulfill requirement of manpower of ARIP
by considering good requirement practices, which will ensure that the best
candidate are identified for the job, resulting in decreased staff turnover & costs.
The timeframe of the project is 2 month .

Meaning of Recruitment :-

Recruitment is the “linking function” joining together those with jobs to fill and
those seeking jobs. Recruiting makes it possible to acquire the number and types
of people necessary to ensure the continued operation of organization. In simple
terms, requirement applies to the process of attracting potential employees to the
organization or company. It is systematic means of finding and inducing available
candidate to apply to the company or enterprise for employment. Recruitment is
said to be positive in its approach as it seeks to attract as many candidate as
possible.

Definition of Recruitment :-

According to Flippo, “Recruitment is process of searching for prospective


employees and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization.”

According to Dale Yoder, “Recruitment is a process to discover the sources of


manpower to meet the requirement of the staffing schedule and too employ
effective measures for attracting that manpower in adequate numbers to facilitate
effective selection of an efficient force.”
According to C.B. Mamoria, “Recruitment is the discovering of applicant for actual
or anticipated organization vacancies.”

Meaning of selection:-

Selection is the process of picking individuals (out of pool of the job candidate)
with requisite qualification comepetence to fill job in the organization.

A formal definition of selection is that “it is process of differentiating between


applicant in order to identify those with a greater likelihood of success in the job.”

Definition of Selection :-

According to Dale Yoder, selection is the process in which candidates for


employment are divided into two classes those who are to be offered employment
and those who are not. Selection mean a process by which qualified personnel may
be chosen from the applicants offering their service to the organization for
employment.

Purposes And Importance Of Recruitment:-


The general purpose of recruitment is to provide a pool of potentially qualified job candidates.
Specifially, the purposes are to:

1. Determine the present and future requirement of the organization in conjunction with
the personnel planning and job analysis activities
2. Increase organizational and individual effectiveness in the short and long term.
3. Evaluate the effectiveness of various recruiting techniques and sources for all type of job
applicants.

Methods of Recruitment :-

 INTERNAL METHODS :-
1. Promotions and Transfers: This is a method of filling vacancies from within through
transfer a promotion

A Transfer is an internal movement within the same grade, from one job to another. It
may lead changes in duties & responsibilities, working condition, etc. But not necessarily
salary.

Promotion, on the other hand, involves movement of employee from a lower level
position to a higher level position accompanied by changes in duties, responsibilities,
Status & values.

2. Job posting: job posting is another way of hiring people from within. in this method, the
organization publicizes job openings on bulletin boards.

3. Employee Referrals: employee referral means using personal contacts to locate job
opportunities. A recommendation from a current employee regarding a job applicant.
The logic behind employee referral is that “it takes on to know one”.

 DIRECT METHODS :-
1.Campus Recruitment: it is method of recruitment by visiting and participating in
college campuses and their placement centers. Here the recruiters visit reputed
educational institution, colleges and universities with a view to pick up job aspirants
having requisites technical or professional skills.
2. Casual Callers: Casual caller and job seekers at the factory and unsolicited
applicants are other sources of direct recruitment.

 INDIRECT METHODS
1. Advertisements: In recent times, this medium has become just as colorful, lively
and imaginative as consumer advertising. The ads generally give a brief outline of the
job responsibilities, compensation package, prospects in the organization, etc.

This method is appropriate when

a) The organization intends to reach a large target group.

b) The organisation wants a fairly good number of talented people


who are graphically spread out.

2. Employers Trade Associations/Clubs: Meetings, conferences, Seminars and


other social functions of Employees Trade Association/Clubs are yet another
means of locating suitable hands.

 THIRD PARTY METHODS:


These includes the use of commercial of private employment agencies, state agencies ,
placements officer of school, colleges and professional association, recruiting firm,
management consulting firm.
1. Private Employment Search Firms: are widely used. They charge a small fee from an
applicant. They specialize in specific occupation general office help, cells man,
technical worker, accountants, computer staff, engineer and executive. These private
agencies are broker who bring employer and capacity to interpret the need to their
clients, to chek out particular type of person and to develop proficiency in
recognizing the talent of specialized personnel.

2. State or public Employment Agencies: also known as employment or labor exchange


are the main agencies of public employment .they provide a clearing house for jobs
and job information. These agencies provide a wide range of service – counseling,
assistance in getting jobs, information about the labor market, labor and wage rates.

3. Professional Organization or Recruiting Firm or executive: maintain complete


information record about employed executive these consulting firm recommend
person of high caliber for managerial, marketing, and production engineers posts.

4. Employee Referrals: friends and relatives of present employees are also a good
source from which employee may be drawn. This method recruitment however,
suffers from a serious defect that it encourages nepotism, i.e. , person of one,s
community or caste are employed, who may or may not be fit for the job.

5. Computer Data Banks: when a company desires a particular type of employee, job
specification and requirements are fed into computer, where they are matched
against the resume data stored there in.
Objective of study:-
The objective for the project are as follows
1. To study the existing recruitment & selection procedure in “ M-tech innovation Pvt. Ltd.”
2. To observe all legal requirement which applies to recruitment.
3. To study the various sources of recruitment followed in “M-tech Innovation Pvt. Ltd.”
4. To identify deficiencies in the current recruitment & selection procedure & suggest
better ways and techniques.
5. To evaluate the recruitment and selection procedure, on the basis of efficiently and
productivity of employees.

The benefits of the study for the researcher is that it help to gain knowledge & experiences &
also provided the opportunity to study & understand the existing recruitment & selection
process in “m-tech Innovation Pvt. Ltd.”

The report deals with recruitment and selection process in terms of theoretical point of view
and the practical use. The study will allows learning about the recruitment and selection
issues, importance, methods used to make it more efficient. The study will help to learn the
practical procedures followed by the leading organizations. Moreover the study will help to
differentiate between the practice and the theories that direct to realize how the organization
can improve their recruitment and selection process.
RESEARCH METHODLOGY :-
Research Methodology
Research is a systematic structure of investigation undertaken in order to discover new facts.
Methodology is essential to perform any research activity. Method means system or order.

Research Methodology provides a framework to conduct a research.

Data Collection Methods :-

i) Primary Data :-

The primary information collected through observation, and by participation


in the recruitment and selection process. Primary data are information collected or generated
by the researcher for the purpose of the project immediately at hand. Experiments and surveys
constitute the principle source of primary data.

ii) Secondary Sources :-

The Secondary information collected from websites, Magazines,


Memorandum, Journal, Books and other relevant sources. Secondary data are information
which has previously been collected by some organization to satisfy its own need but it is being
used by other for an entirely different reason. Thus secondary data refer to the information
that has been collected by someone other than a researcher for purposes other than those
involved in the research project at hand.
Both primary and secondary data source will be used to generate this report. Primary data
sources are scheduled survey, informal discussion with professionals and observation while
working in different desks. The secondary data sources are different published reports,
manuals.

Sample size:

3Months (From 21st May – 21st July).

Limitation of the research:


(The main limitation of the study is the collection of information. Because most of the
information are confidential. So they don’t want to disclose them. And I am not able to show
any forms which they use in the time of joining or we use to upgrades the files.)

7.1 Data Analysis:

The data analysis of the data is done as per the survey finding. The data is represented
graphically in percentage.

The percentage of interview detail were analyzed and expressed in the form of charts
7.2 Data Interpretation:

The interview detail are used for the purpose of getting feedback regarding “Recruitment and
Selection Process” of the company. The interview detail of three months are used for the purpose of study.

The data analysis of the data is done as per the survey finding. The data is represented

The percentage of interview detail were analyzed and expressed in the form of charts

Data Interpretation:-

The interview detail are used for the purpose of getting feedback regarding
“Recruitment and Selection Process” of the company. The interview detail of three months are
used for the purpose of study.

OBSERVATION
Observation :-

 There are no waiting room & interview room for the candidates.
 The time table for the interview is necessary.
 The company use private employment agencies, employee referrals for requirement.

Company uses 14 private employment agencies.


 The Campus Recruitment is not in use.
 The company arranges interviews outside the company premises.
 The officers take follow up time to time.
 Application from is very lengthy. So it is time consuming.
 The recruitment & selection starts with the manpower requisition & end with

appointment . After that M-tech innovation arrange various types of training &

development program for the employment to develop their skill.


SUGGESTION:-
Working environment is very good in M-tech innovation private limited. They are very co-
operative. Any one feels pleasure to work with M-tech. If they take corrective decision
beginning of starting a work then some mistakes can be solved.

For Example: interview room or then no problem will be arising. if we consider two or three
problems then the functioning process are very good.

According to observation & findings I give some suggestions to the organization for their
improvement in Recruitment & Selection Process:

 Their should be separate waiting room as well as interview room for the candidates
which are coming for the interview. Proper

 There should be time table for an interview.

 Modify the application cum employee information form i.e. format should be user
friendly.

 Give advertise in the newspaper for getting more response.

 Getting confirmation of candidates from the respective consultancy & then arrange
the interviews outside the factory.

 Give proper guideline related to the requirements to the consultancy so that they
fing out suitable candidates as per requirement.

 For getting more candidates use another source than consultancy i.e. (job portal, job
fair, campus interviews).

 Check suitability of the candidates which are match to the job.


CONCLUSION:-
Based on the analysis through the observation the following is the conclusion of the study:

The organization follows the rules and regulation involved in their recruitment and selection
procedure of the organization. The recruitment and selection process is done properly. They
selected right person for the right job. The number of selected candidates are increased by
using proper way of recruitment & selection.

The most of the candidates comes through third party method i.e. from private employment
agencies.

The study on recruitment and selection is more an ART rather than a process. HR professional
is having a big responsibilities to hire a best person from the available talent pool. At the
same time one need to be cost conscious. The employer should judge on individual merits and
set the same standards for all. In the present scenario, “it is the biggest challenge for a HR
manger to hunt for talent.”
