Database Server + Application Server
Introduction
This document describes the installation procedure of a new ION Enterprise 6 SP1 system with the following parameters:
Server topology - Distributed system with a database server housing the ION database and an application server
housing the ION Enterprise application and Reporting Services.
Operation System (assumed already installed)
- Windows 2008 R2 (64bit), or
- Windows 2008 64bit SP2
SQL Server Version - SQL Server 2005 64bit Standard

Under the Install heading, click “Server components, tools, Books Online, and samples”
Next > Next > It’s OK to get the IIS and ASP.Net warnings as shown below. All other actions should succeed.

Components to Install:
Service Account: Use the built-in System Account “Local System”, check SQL Server Agent to start
Install
Reboot!
click OK
click Yes
Finish

If IIS did not install successfully and you do not see this screen, then stop and resolve before continuing with the
install!
Under the Install heading, click “Server components, tools, Books Online, and samples”
Next > Next > ensure System Configuration Check succeeded with no errors or warnings!

Components to Install:
Service Account: Use the built-in System Account “Local System”, check SQL Server Agent to start
Install
Reboot!
Click Run Setup > Install Server > Primary Server > SQL Instance
click Install
At this point the application server should function normally on its own except for Reporting Services.

-Now manually copy PMLMSDEManager.dll (system\bin) to the same location on the database server.
