Song, was born to musically-minded peasant parents, Felipe Santiago and Maria Santiago, in Santa Maria, Bulacan. His other compositions include: "Sakali Man," "Hibik ng Filipinas," "Pakiusap," "Ang Pag-ibig," "Suyuan," "Alaala Kita," "Ikaw at Ako," "Ano Kaya ang Kapalaran?", "Hatol Hari Kaya?", "Sakali't Mamatay," "Dalit ng Pag-ibig," "Aking Bituin," "Madaling Araw" and "Pagsikat ng Araw."

Composer, pianist, and teacher Nicanor Santa Ana Abelardo was born in San Miguel de Mayumo, Bulacan, on February 7, 1893. He was the son of a photographer, Valentin Abelardo, and a church singer, Placida Santa Ana. Abelardo was credited for bringing the kundiman to the level of art. He also composed music for the sarswela as well as songs in different musical forms. He completed more than 140 compositions, including Nasaan Ka Irog?, Kundiman ng Luha, Mutya ng Pasig, and Bituing Marikit.
- Antonio J. Molina (1893-1934)
Antonio Jesus Naguiat Molina was born on the 26th of December, 1894, in Quiapo, Manila. He is the son of Juan Molina, a customs inspector during the final years of the Spanish regime, and Simeona Naguiat. Antonio Molina was married to Pilar Siauingco with whom he had six children - among them are: Rostia, a pianist; Exequiel (Lito), a jazz artist and journalist; and, Antonio Maria, Jr., a US-based conductor and composer.
His hundreds of compositions include a sarswela entitled "Ana Maria",
done while he was still in school. His most important orchestral works are Misa Antoniana Grand Festival Mass (1964) and Ang Batingaw (1972).
