III. Procedure:

2. Unlocking of Difficulties (Vocabulary)


Ease – the state of being comfortable
Confidence – the quality or state of being certain

3. Motivation
Let the students get to know more about delivering lines/speeches by
watching the “Toastmasters” video taken from a video-sharing site.
They shall be able to list tips in delivering speeches.
(Interaction about the video)

4. Activity
Group Activity – group the students into four (4) groups. Let them watch
another video that presents an example of a speech. As they view, let
them listen attentively to the language, words, and expressions used by
the speaker in delivering his/her speech.

Group 1 - What words or expressions in the speech that made an impact on you? Explain.
Group 2 - Is it important to have the right diction and correct usage in delivering a speech?

Group 3 - What improvements you suggest in delivering the same speech?
Group 4 - Does the speaker deliver the speech effectively? Why? Why not? Or in what way?

5. Abstraction
Speech – the communication or expression of thoughts in spoken words.
Extemporaneous - is especially applied to an unmemorized speech given
from notes or an outline
Impromptu – is applied to a speech given, a poem recited, or a song sung
without advance or warning

6. Analysis
1. Why is it important to know and develop speech delivery?
2. How does a speech influences people?
3. How does a speaker make his/her speech effective?

7. Application
With the same group, let the students choose a topic (provided by the
teacher) to be used for Speech Delivery. Each group will be given five
(5) minutes to prepare, choose 1 member to deliver the speech and
performance will be rate using the rubric.
