Syllabus Pattern

The WGSE exam consists of objective and subjective questions testing daily life experiences, mathematics, and science. For classes 1-7, exams only have objective questions, while classes 8-10 have objective and one subjective question. Classes 11-12 can choose an optional subject and have objective questions testing logic and general knowledge, as well as objective and subjective questions in their chosen subject. Exams are scored based on number of correct answers, with subjective answers only evaluated if the student scores above the 90th percentile on objective questions.

WGSE Syllabus & Pattern


1.1. WGSE Syllabus & Pattern
WGSE questions mainly focus on daily life experiences and applications, based on
Mathematics and Science of the respective Grade / Class. The higher classes will have
questions from IT, English and Logic too.
1.2. For Class 1 to 10
WGSE Question Paper of class 1 - 7 consists of objective questions only. But, Class 8
and above will have two parts in their question paper.
PART – I will have Objective Questions and PART – II will have a single subjective
question from Mathematics or Science.

1.3. Optional Subjects for Class 11 & 12 & Artificial Intelligence
For Class / Grade 11 & 12: Students in Class 11 & 12 will have two parts in their
question paper for WGSE – 2020: PART - I & II, as follows.

PART-I is compulsory and it is common for Class 11 & 12
Logic 20 MCQs irrespective of the optional subject chosen. It comprises of 20
PART – I questions from (1) Logic, and 10 questions from (3) General
For Class Knowledge.

General Under PART – II, students need to answer 30 MCQs and One
10 MCQs Subjective Question of the opted subject (ONLY ONE) from the
Knowledge
12 subjects offered. (30 + 1 Questions) Part I & II should be
30 MCQs completed in 120 minutes.

Candidates can choose one from the following subjects. Use the subject code to fill the
SPL. Artificial Intelligence is also included as one of the optional subject.

1.4. Marking the Answers


Students will be given Response Sheet (RS) wherein the right answers are to be
marked by darkening the bubbles. Students of Grade / Class 1 to 7 are allowed to use
pencils to darken the bubbles of the Response Sheet. Students of Grade / Class 8 to 12
should use BLACK INK PEN to darken the bubbles. Please note that the answers once
marked cannot be changed later using eraser or white ink. Such corrections if any, will
be treated as wrong answers.
Students from class 8 to 12 should answer Part – I MCQs and PART – II subjective
question on different answer sheets designed for the same.

1.5. Subjective Questions


How the score of the Subjective Question under PART - II is used
The answer of the subjective question (PART – II of class 8 and above) will be
evaluated only when the candidate scores 90 percentile and above in PART – I
(objective questions).
If PART – II is evaluated, those points will be added to their PART – I scores. The
percentile of all the test takers will be calculated again to decide the new percentile.
