That after thorough analysis of the school data on the proficiency level for the year 2016 -
2017. The project team found out that the two sections in grade three got the most
number of frustration level in the English Phil - Iri pre test.

OBJECTIVES Specific, measurable, attainable, results-oriented, and time-bound (SMART), achievable within project timeframe.

Improve the reading skills of at least 75% (51) out of the 69 Grade III pupils from
frustration level using appropriate interventio processes through the implementation of
the project READER within three months from December to March 2017.

That after ardent study of the school regarding the proficiency level of Grade III class, it was
discovered that there is a poor performance in reading comprhension in English. The project
team came up to a solution by implmeenting the Project Reader. Its purpose is to develop the
reading skills of Grade III pupils from frustration level to instructional level.
OBJECTIVES Specific, measurable, attainable, results-oriented, and time-bound (SMART), achievable within project timeframe.

With the use of the appropriate intervention techniques of implementing Continous


Improvement Project within three months from September 2017 to January 2018 at least
80% of the the 40 identified Grade III frustration level will become instructional and
independent readers.

Upon the implementation of the Revised Phil - Iri and after administering the group
screening test in English for Grade IV - VI, there were 68 pupils who got the scores of
below 14 (˂14).

OBJECTIVES Specific, measurable, attainable, results-oriented, and time-bound (SMART), achievable within project timeframe.

Improve the reading skills of Grade IV pupils who got a score of ˂14 during the
administration of the Group Screening Test (GST) in English. Increas at least 74% (46)
out of 68 pupils in Grade IV class below 14 (˂14) to above 14 (˃14) as their raw scores in
Group Screening Test in English.
