Demo Lesson Plan in English

b. share the plot of their favorite story, and
c. create a sequential diagram illustrating the elements of plot

Post the summary of the past lesson about the elements of fiction such as the
characters, setting, theme, and plot.
C. Lesson Proper
1. Preparation Activities
A. Motivation
a.1 The students will watch a short film.
Tell the class that any text that tells a story has a plot, and as the plot or
storyline unfolds, there is a certain pattern of events, which is generally
followed.a.2 After the brief introduction, ask the students about the events
they remember from the short film they’ve watched, the teacher will list
it on a the board.
a.2.1 What are the important events you remember from the short film?
B. Discussion
a. Explain to the class that the plot line of the movie has six parts
namely exposition, conflict, rising action, climax, falling action and
resolution.
b. Connect each of these terms to its corresponding event in the film that
the students have described. Ask the students if they can determine the
significance of each six terms. Help the class to formulate definitions.
c. Explore the correct definitions of each six parts of the plot line with
the class, encouraging the students to make corrections of their notes
where needed.
d. Ask the students to draw into their notes the plot line diagram of the
story, which will the teacher model for them on the overhead
projector.

C. Enrichment Activities
Turn and Talk
This strategy permits all students to participate in discussion,
rather than only a few students participating in a class-wide
discussion. All students are able to process new learning while
engaging in meaningful conversation with a classmate.

Group and Share - Divide the class into four groups. Each group of
students will be given a quote related to the story. Students will be given
5minutes to discuss it to their group. Then, they will choose a
representative to do the turn and talk in 3 minutes to the other group to
share the discussions from their group.

D. Generalization

In a narrative or creative writing, a plot is the sequence of events


that make up a story, whether it’s told, written, filmed, or sung. The plot is
the story, and more specifically, how the story develops, unfolds, and
moves in time. Plots are typically made up of five main elements namely:
exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution.
