I. Course Number: IE 425
II. Course Title: Systems Engineering
III. Credit Units: 3
IV. Prerequisite: with Methods Engineering

V. Course Rationale:
This course is introduced to graduating Industrial Engineering students to prepare them for systems analysis and design jobs in any organization. This will
integrate all the topics taken during the formation years about organizations and systems; analyze their interrelations and develop skills on improving it for the
over-all success of the organization towards the achievement of objectives.

VI. Course Description:

The Systems Engineering course is concerned with the achievement of optimal relationships between systems and the human users. Students will learn
process modeling, data modeling as well as object-oriented modeling techniques. Students will also have the chance to practice both their oral presentation skills
and writing skills through assignments, class discussion and case studies.

VIII. Course General Objectives:

At the end of the course the students should be able to :

1. Deduce the significance of the concept of systems and analysis and documentation in the manufacturing and services setting by using simple systems
applications.
2. Use the different basic concepts in analyzing problems and proposing solutions.
3. Appreciate the use of these concepts by applying them in the course requirement.
4. create a model of a system using Structured design methodology.
