Letter of Introduction

Thank you for considering my request to be a teacher in your school district. My name is
Savannah Miller and I am from Madison, South Dakota. I started my bachelor’s degree of
Elementary and K-12 Special Education in January 2018 at Dakota State University after
transferring from South Dakota State University. While continuing my education at Dakota State
University, I have gained a minor in K-8 Educational Technology and will graduate in December
2020. DSU has given me the opportunity to receive a quality education while collaborating with
passionate professors and students. I am a respectful student, motivated to learn from others, and
willing to try new approaches in order to help me succeed professionally as a future teacher.
As an educator, I believe that every student should have the opportunity to become successful in
their own way while learning in a safe and supportive environment. As an educator, I want to
teach the content with enthusiasm to engage my students and make the learning more exciting
and meaningful. To do this, I will strive to include hands-on learning opportunities, incorporate
class discussions, ask questions, include problem solving, use metacognitive thinking, and
include small, large, and whole group experiences. Overall, I want students to learn by working
together and having a variety of opportunities.
I am very enthused to take the next step in my educational career and continue being a lifelong
learner. Thank you for taking the time to read this letter and for considering me as a future
teacher. I would love to be part of your school district and learn from your staff members. I am
available for an in-person or over-the-phone interview and can be contacted by email at
