Management Plan 2
I believe classroom management is very important. It allows teachers and students to feel safe
and welcomed into a new learning environment. Providing that environment will help every
student want to continue to learn. Without that classroom management students will not be able
to learn and it’ll be somewhat hard to continue through the school days.
Philosophical Statement
My philosophy about teaching is that the children have a safe educational environment. Where
they’re able to grow mentally, physically, and emotionally. It is very important to see them grow
not only as students but as a person. As a teacher it’s my goal to encourage them to be the best
that they can be. Every student should continue to be provided equal education that they
deserve in every classroom, especially my own. Every student will and is able to succeed
regardless of their differences or difficulties.
Room Arrangement
General Education: Walking into the classroom students will see this fun and colorful
classroom in hopes that they’ll be excited to learn. They will see a huge carpet of colors and
shapes and every table is one of the round tables with four seats to every table with a bucket full
of colorful materials that they'll use throughout the school year . Round tables will allow them to
see every one of their classmates/table mates and make every class assignment fun. It will also
allow them to work together and share their creativity with their table mates. On the four walls
will be a lot of colorful learning posters from numbers to the alphabet and shapes etc around our
white boards/smart board. I am a big fan of birthdays so I will have a space on the wall for the
student and I to keep track and to share everyone’s birthday. Of course, as a teacher I will have
my little corner space for myself to work on lesson plans or grading or even helping students
one on one to test their growth in class. I will have my desk and on the wall I will have a
motivational wall because teachers also need motivation as well. However, on my desk I’ll have
a planner, my work and a few more other materials for my needs and I will also have a
horseshoe table to work one on one with a student/ students.
SPED: If I were to have a sped classroom I would want it to be safe for every student however
look the same as a regular general ed classroom. I will provide more space for them to walk
around if they need to or take time away from trying to learn. The classroom will have their
routine on the wall so they know and so they get used to a routine. Around the classroom I will
still provide learning posters as I would for a regular general ed classroom. They will have their
tables in rolls but separate from each other to give them more room for themselves and so that
they are facing one way and they won't get distracted. I will make sure that nothing in the
classroom can hurt any student in this classroom as well. I will also have a lot of cabinet space
to put things in where only I have access to. I will always provide a clean and organized room as
much as possible.
Classroom Rules
Both General Education and Special Education: As of classroom rules, I feel like it’s very
respectful to always listen to whom is speaking and that is why I will have a rule for that. “Sit
criss cross applesauce hand in our laps, look with your eyes, listen with our ears and hearts,
and think with our brains.” In my classroom I will not tolerate any type of bullying or mistreating
any other person. For rules they will follow as 1. Be on time 2. Come prepared to learn 3. Be
kind and polite to everyone 4. Hands and feet to ourselves 5. Be respectful of classmates,
teacher and property. I always wanted to create a positive and safe environment and starting in
a classroom is the first step. If students learn these manners in the classroom when they get
home or when they’re out and about in the future they will carry this will them and show the
other teachers, parents etc how positive and respectful they can be. It first starts off when
they’re young. Any and all students are capable of learning manners.
Classroom procedures
General Education: Students will enter the classroom in the morning and unpack their
backpacks and folders. They will turn in homework and eat breakfast. Then I will check in with
every student by doing attendance. Following that we will start on our morning work. As of
starting our morning we will stand around the carpet pass a ball and share with each other our
name, what day it is and maybe something fun like what we like for example. Then we will sit on
the carpet and I will do a recap on alphabets/ sounds. We will then read a morning book based
off of my lesson plan and once we are done with that I will have them sit down at their tables. I
will give them directions on the next assignment that we will do based off of the lesson plan as
well. The next assignment will then be a learning/ creativity assignment like drawing what we
read and creating sentences. Then we will come back as a group just to have them moving and
not sitting down all day we will meet at the carpet and share what we drew and wrote. We will
then do centers where they can have some fun but still learn how to write their letters and
numbers. I will give them the independence and let them choose which center they’ll like to be
in. While students are doing that I will pull four students back and test them on their letters /
sounds or numbers whatever we are learning that week just to see how much they’re getting
and what I may need to change. After that will be lunch and recess but before that I will
announce rules and procedures to and for them just so they know what is expected from them
and just so that they can be respectful when they’re in the cafeteria and outside. When they
come back, I'll let them drink water and go to the restroom. I’ll then put on shapes, numbers,
sounds and alphabet songs so that they cool off and get all of the rest of their energy out. We
will then continue back on our centers and by the end of the day come together as a class give
a last lecture and share with each other what we liked about our day. When they’re all gone I’ll
stay behind in class and grade what I need to grade and plan ahead what needs to get done.
SPED: Special education students will always be students in my eyes. There will be no placing
our hands on them or forcing them to stop. The first classroom that I was placed in really was
horrible and I will and never can see myself do that. Forcing sped students will only want them
to keep having the same behavior and it just increases the violence in them. I if I were going to
be a sped teacher I will have them on a routine every day so they get used to it doing it on their
own. They will place their backpacks where they need to be and they will turn in homework if I
give them homework but that would only be rarely. I will then help them learn their names,
address, and phone number at least. Then I will put them in learning centers where they do
different activities that help them in what they need depending on their disability. Then they will
switch off to actual learning at least a bit of academic skills. I will try to always avoid giving them
technology just because once we take them away that's when behavior becomes an issue. After
all of that they will enjoy some play time outside and come back inside on continue off on the
rest of the end of the routine which is cleaning up and getting ready to go home.
